I would hope the fact Bonz source said to keep it quiet about trac means he's keen on us. Also the fact that it seems like we were the first club he met with.

Or maybe he just didn't want the media circus.

Reportedly was unhappy to be caught in Adelaide and has been to WA as well today.

Just evaluating his options I think

I’d like us to get JUH and Trac.

JUH and Amartey to be mobile talls with McLean told to beef up.

Logan to defence and Mills into midfield rotations, joining Trac and Heeney as the main three.

Trade out Florent and other flankers to make it happen.

Push Warner to the outside more and let Blakey roam.

Others running through the midfield to provide spark to include Gulden, Warner, JMac and Jordon (if he starts) and Paps.

Heeney and Trac to enjoy resting forward. Mills to enjoy resting back, especially near the end of quarters like the Reid role (with Warner in particular to provide a burst when others tire).

They should at least be given the selections they deserve and in their case it was 1&19 you aren’t giving up a generational talent for a couple of dart shots on the teens in a skinny draft made skinner by the picks being pushed out. Whether they trade them is up to them but they shouldn’t be diluted so much that they are barely second rounders.

It’s why they needed to clean the mess up and thankfully they have.

Matching gift picks with two selections will be a great thing from next season.

This is a good change for all clubs ours included
Yeah cool, you can go on and on about that if you want. It wasn't what I was talking about.

So I think we are losing Buller and maybe Florent (tbc)

I just always assumed that Lloyd and Rampe would be retaken as rookie spots to leave us the flexibility. I mean who else is going to pick them up.

I expect us to have 2/3 live selections on draft night.
Buller is a rookie so he won't count. Rampe has been retained on the senior list. It seems to me that Lloyd and Ladhams both feel they would warrant a senior list spot too, whether it be at the Swans or somewhere else.

I have seen all the talk about Florent too, but I am also a bit ambivalent about trading him because I just re watched last years GF and Florent was one of the few who showed any composure. He was also equal highest possession getter with Gulden.

And we should not forget that Florent is contracted until 2029 along with his business partner Hayward. He doesn't have to go if he doesn't want to.

I reckon the club has painted itself into a corner, unless there are some AFL list rule changes that we don't know about.

maybe this isnt on topic as such but boy oh boy theres an awful lot of people living in glass houses on this thread. Our best players would have to be heeney, gulden warner mccartin blakey and mills (a lot of you would also say grundy but its my list)

Of these 6, 4 are academy selections. Everyone of you who suggests that the eagles or north suck up their bad decisions should every day ponder where we'd be without the benefits of the academy and the low valuations which enabled us to get a lot of our best players.

Frankly if the eagles get an extra end of first round selection so frigging what. the competition should be about teams being able to get off the bottom in a reasonable length of time. Theyve done their penance both of them. winning 10% of matches in 4 years is destruvtive for the comp, the teams, the fans and the players. They should get priority picks and an end of first round pick isnt exactly the priority benefits that richmond and the hawks received back in the day.

Academies are to alleviate a disadvantage, not an advantage themselves, so I don't buy this benefits nonsense.

You're free to come up with your own best player list and argue from that I guess.

I didn't bring up North, but boy oh boy, their handout was worse.

Trac played the whole year under Goodwin this year, and only requested a trade now with their new coach coming in.

With Goodwin gone, surely he would have stayed if he was the issue?
They alluded to fact on Agenda Setters Last Night That Goodwin Departing was probably one of the factors he wants out. If there was friction there surely they would not have mentioned that. I Don't think Petracca and Goodwin Have any Bad Blood tbh. Its Melbourne As A Club.

Poster over on the main draft board said us or Saints are a good chance to pick up 202cm ruck Isaac Waller from the Lions Academy, as they won't have the points to match a couple of their Academy players.

On the JUH vid, I see someone who looks incredibly nervous and is really worried about not saying the wrong thing while also trying to be polite.

I think he handled himself very well.

And I don’t care how short the flight is, I always come off the plane looking dishevelled - nothing wrong with that!

Not really. I think he was just a kid who got doorstopped and was trying to be cagey.
Loved the $50 comment!

Yeah he seemed like a kid trying to hold it together after a night flight, and I thought he did pretty well.

As for the $50 to come to Sydney, I'll be happy to throw some cash in whipround to get him $100 to join the Swans.

Well, with Ladhams re-signed and only Lloyd yet to sign, does that mean our number of list spots available may mean there is nobody new coming in apart from Rosas and draftees?

Edit: I forgot we are losing Buller
