On a scale of confidence out of 10 we would be sitting around 7.5/10

Pitch was good , seemed to be well accepted, his manager was talking the club up (granted in her best interests $$ he moves ), nice evening and night spent in town.

We have done everything we can to woo
I'm not sure it's in his manager's interest he moves, moreso she has been employed to get a move done.

The fact he came here , toured etc.. with his spouse and agent (who stayed behind) says more likely Adel IMO
He still hasn't toured the GCS facilities & undertaken a medical with them ....is that correct ?

Do yourself a favour if you have Stan
Watch "Show me the Money"

Then tell me you disagree
I've seen that, great insight into mostly unlikable managers. I think my point is more that a deal couldn't get done last year when Petracca wanted to go, even though Houston got to Collingwood in contract, and it was reported that the change of manager this year was an expensive exercise, surely for the express purpose of getting a deal done.

No? We tried to get another ruck, failed to get him, then gave Rob an extra year out of desperation
And after watching McAndrew very closely during the SANFL finals I'm not convinced he offers any more than Strachan at AFL level. Probably need to give him a game or two and find out early on unless we pick up someone this trade/draft period. Of course we could give Toby Murray more minutes in the SANFL ruck as insurance as well.

I think he'll move on

2 flags, they have others who will command the big $$

If smart he cashes in now
Touted as Neale replacement (more midfield time)
Brisbane gf
Fagan’s pet and loves the club
Drafted and best mates with players like Lohman
Expected to be offered a decent pay rise

Not all players leave - and Brisbane don’t look like falling off of a cliff anytime soon

I can quite easily see him choosing to stay

It's only 50/50 because Morris doesn't know the answer .....this response, guarantee's he can't be wrong

Petracca knows what his preference is, the agents are now working behind the scenes to see what the clubs are prepared to offer Melbourne. Melbourne aren't going to turn their cards around and advise what their low water mark is, the agent will be advising his client the likelihood of the competing clubs to get a deal done, but it's not set in stone. Petracca then weighs that up with the other factors ie contract, lifestyle, success and whatever else is important to him. Whichever club he picks, it will be due to a mix of all the factors, not a single anything.

He’s only had a very light touch phone call with Dimma
Isn't that a big indicator

I do think, being in a strong football state is a strong consideration for Petracca

I also find it strange, no VIC clubs have been linked to a Petracca trade ....that's highly unusual

Totally agree .....McAndrew has no core strength, and is too easily pushed off the ball

Now, if Ruck changes come in, favouring jumping Rucks .....less throw-ins with a last touch rule ...that may change things

IMO, Rucks should have a foot on the outer circle at centre bounces ....that used to be the case B4 Coaches got involved again, stuffing the game up

Get the impression that Hawthorn were about the only vic club that could get deal done and offer what he was looking for - and they seem to have pivoted to Merrett

Not sure Petracca would want to be HAW's backup option .....wouldn't that take any trade down to the 11th hour, if HAW are focussing on Merrett

They don't need salary relief, they're rebuilding, they will be after the best picks they can get.
Correct .....however, the extra salary space will allow MELB to chase 1-2 star players from other clubs

Why not? Didn’t he fire his manager.
So any new deal from now, she would get a cut of?
Whereas if he doesn’t move she won’t?

for me, im not giving any more than pick 14 for trac.. plus some pick swaps. no way we sell the farm for a 30yr old. last 2 times we have done that its backfired (Carey & Gibbs)

I'm not as keen as others. I wouldn't be touching next year's first which probably means the deal doesn't get done even if he picks us as I'm not trading a Soligo or Rachele either

There is talk that it could be the same money but spread over five years but even so it will mean we can't make a big offer to some else. It's hard as only the club know over the next few years what other options there might be
