If he gets off the plane in Queensland and is not dressed in the daggy tracksuit that he wore to Adelaide (that looked like he’d just rolled out of bed), and is more presentable, then I would be VERY WORRIED.

Wasn’t exactly screaming “I’m going to a job interview”, lol.

Let’s take a step back for a sec.

I think there is enough smoke out there to assume Petracca is a good chance of heading north rather than to us. Which means there could be a lot of disappointment in a couple days time.

So might as well take stock now. We will still get Ah Chee who is a good player albeit not a needle mover and does not fix our midfield woes other than allowing more midfield time for Rankine especially if Rachele gets injured again.

With Trac, McVee and likely May gone I can’t really see the Dees allowing Oliver to walk as well.

That basically removes any key midfield targets, which leaves us with 14 (likely to be 16-17 post FA compensation picks) to take to the draft. Maybe we can move up the order by going for Carlton’s pick for example, but that would likely require having to trade out of next year’s first round which is always a dicey play and this year is probably not the draft to do it.

So basically Ah Chee and pick 16 plus a couple later ones (and Cotton). Meanwhile the Suns, Hawks and Lions boost their lists with star power.

This is a realistic scenario. How do we feel about it? Do we have faith that Draper, Curtin, Soligo etc are capable to taking us to the same level in the next two years?
Its also a very pessimistic scenario

Don’t forget Sizzler!
Shut years ago!..

The Goldy is shit for “foodies”..

Adelaide shits all over it.. Adelaide and south Australia are actually one of the best places in the world when it comes to food and wine.

Trac would be stupid to pick the gold coast if its food/cooking etc etc that is playing a role in his decision.. but I’d hardly think it would be..

petracca has just landed in gold coast. according to tom morris. will meet with them soon today as GC have there bnf tonight

Interesting. Where did he say that? I didn’t realise he was going today.

Certainly doesn’t like early flights it seems.

A lot objectively pointing in the GC favour.

Can absolutely see Trac, picking them.

It's an easier ride as he transitions into a veteran and still has a great chance at ultimate glory. Given the near death experience can absolutely see why this would be attractive, and why protecting the body for life after football is important.

Easy money, keeps the body in good shape for longevity and in the window for a flag.

It's the pessimist supporters nervousness coming thru .....if we miss out, you don't feel quite so bad

Part of the treasure trove of supporters football superstitions

Also known that he loves travelling to Noosa. I think that would be a big factor for both him and his wife.

Agree with this. I live on the Goldie too, alot of amazing things about living here, but the food scene isn't one of them.

I love travelling to Noosa and the GC for holidays too and have been many times (so do many people), doesn't mean I ever want to move there (and I do have friends that live there too).

Not really.

If I put myself in his shoes, I think I'd pick GC.

Thers alot more to life than football and there's many years ahead.

I'm ok with not getting Trac and have said so I'm the past.

There's heaps pointing both ways, just depends on if you're a half full or half empty kinda person.

Personally, I'm usually a "There's nothing in the cup" kind of guy, but I've got a good feeling about this for some reason

Possibly.

But baccs you have to admit that it is likely a draw card for him and his wife

Meanwhile his wife had apparently never even been to Adelaide.

Much more smoke around us than the Suns.

It's like you heard the Suns were also interested and then you've gone "welp guess that's it then. We ain't getting Petracca!"
