I don't agree ....Petracca is conscious about his brand & legacy .....he, IMO, still wants to show everyone he's an elite footballer ....very much aware of the legacy he'll leave after he retires

Of the two Clubs ....ADEL gives him the best opportunity in that regard
It's hard to say isn't it.

I am trying to be objective and it takes a special person to still want that at his age after winning a premiership and having that near death experience. That's why objectively I could see how he'd want the easier path.

Does he still want this? I'd say objectively probably not, as most people wouldn't. But he may not be like most people and happy to be wrong.

Why wouldn't he ?? The very best players all have that drive

To be fair Adelaide Beaches couldn't compare to Qld beaches.

Not even in same ball park.
It's not like beaches within the Melbourne area though, we actually have good beaches near our CBD, that's more what I was getting at. I don't think beaches are playing a factor here though, anything is an upgrade on where he currently lives!

I would think the food scene is more important to them given that his wife makes her living managing his cooking career. You aren't getting those same opportunities on the GC.

Things in Adelaides Favour:

1. Premiership Window
2. ANB
3. Food and Wine

Things in GC Favour

1. Premiership window
2. Very Talented young squad
3. Not needing to do the heavy lifting
4. Longevity and protection of his body
5. Hardwick
6. Apparently Noosa?

Things that could go either way:

Being the main man in the spot light of a footy mad town.
Now depending whether he wants this or not, this could be either positive or negative.

Lifestyle, depending on what type of lifestyle this could go either way.

What have I missed?
The fact he will play in front 400 people every second week. Who would want that.

I love my beaches and I lived on the GC for 12 months and it’s an absolute shit hole

It’s completely different to Nooda which is in the Sunshine Coast - 250km, and it’s souless

Almost every sporting franchised has failed there - it’s only the AFL throwing cash at it keeps it alive - home crowds lucky to get above $15k

Yes the climate is good - but it’s full of bikies and surfies that do nothing - in terms of a food culture, it’s the last place I would chose to build your food brand

Don’t confuse going there for a few days holiday and living there

Always a struggle to sell property there for that reason - it didn’t end up the place it was designed to be

To an extent.

He's achieved the ultimate goal and approaching the latter part of his career.

Not saying it's not possible, but objectively, I think there are other things in life he may be prioritising now.

Like I said, not ruling it out, but would be less likely.

If we do miss out, it's time to join forces with Port and go to the AFL to say South Australia needs an Academy where Crows and Port get access to one SA player each every year.

We just can't compete with the Eastern side of Australia clubs.

We can't attract Super star players from the East Coast if they aren't already South Australian or have suffered a massive scandal.

That's the one thing we just don't know. He strikes me as a big game player that plays his best footy in front of big crowds (Kings Birthday, finals etc), but maybe he doesn't care about that post his injury, I've got no idea.

No where in Australia compares to Adelaide for food and wine and that's a hill I will die on.

Have eaten everywhere across Australia and every place has their high end and low end, but the average standard of food is higher in Adelaide than anywhere else.

The average pub meal is a great test of this. Was in Melb, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane lately and the quality of the average pub meal in Adelaide are levels above those places. Perth unfortunately being the worse, but even the difference between Melbourne and Adelaide is clear.

Pretty sure that footage of him leaving was from later the same day, no?
Yeah he's wearing the same clothes (so is his wife), definitely same day. Would have been the flight just after 8pm given he's flying Virgin and it's clearly night outside.

Once you win, you want to win more.

None of us know how Trac will make his decision

  • how much is it football and role bases
  • how much is it contract based
  • how much is it life-style based

I haven’t lived in Adelaide for 20 years - but there is a reason Adelaide is one on the top 3 livable cities in the world

I’ve live in Glenelg on the foreshore and in the GC

I know which I would chose for an overall experience every day of the week
