Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Geelong don't have the capital to get him. Only chance is if Carlton really want him out (despite what they're saying). In which case the sound tactic is to wait for Carlton to come to them. Which Mackie has already said is what they're doing.

It's then a game of chicken. If they are keen, and Charlie does want to go there, then at some point they'll have to reach out to Carlton.

It's posturing.

The club would be silly to come out and say "yes, we're open to trading him". Diminishes your leverage instantly.

Play the game. Keep telling every club "he's off the table" for as long as possible. Make them want to pay more to pry him out.
