Melbourne and Sydney are on par with what they can provide. Dont think it made a difference.

But the argument of lifestyle for the partner and family I believe is what is killing the equity of the competition and this is why all clubs should have control over contracted players. We need to remove the partner from the equation. Its a professional sport and players need to treat it as such that its a privilege to walk on the field every single game of their career.

You get the feeling though that the Melbourne media are pushing him to GC because they see them as a non entity. A gimmick that can send players and picks back to victorian teams.
