Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Trading pick 19 for a free agent that Brisbane can’t afford to match, would be madness.

Don’t forget if Starcevich went to Eagles as a free agent, the Lions get nothing due to getting Allen and Draper, Brisbane can’t afford to match any offer due to its size and lastly WC have pick 1 in the PSD.

To keep things civil and maintain good relationships, id still call them pathetic if they offered anything more than their 3rd round pick, even that Brisbane end up with a 3rd round pick instead of nothing.
So they don’t lose #2

A current player seems to think it's not necessarily over.

Lij has had some internal support.

Said player may or may not have been in that picture posted earlier today and referring to an important player in that photo.

Obviously, it will depend on what those responsible for those decisions decide but the effort has been made.
So players are still calling the shots...wonderful

Hollands needs to be working his arse off and doing things like that to save his AFL career. We should pay him out. We are going nowhere with players on our list who make themselves unavailable. If he stays and if we give him another chance, he is a 1 year contract player for the rest of his career.
Hollands needs to beef up a little. Not too much though …still need his gut running power.

Yeah sorry, Elijah had his chance. It’s supposed to be impressive that he’s trying now? Only after we told him we don’t want him? My 2 year old does that once he’s been told off.

Look at what the Dogs just went through this season. We’d be so much better off washing our hands of him. Good luck at your next club, whether it be AFL or VFL.

Cal Twomey is usually on the money with the Top 10 and has Harry Dean ranked at No.8 "Best Defender in the Draft"

https://www.afl.com.au/news/1427257...m-guide-top-draft-prospects-september-ranking
If were going off Cal's list

WC - Duursma
GC - Uwland
Rich - Duff-Tytler
GC - Patterson
Brisbane - Annable
Rich - Robey
Ess - Taylor
Carl - Dean
Ess - Sharp
Stk - Schubert
Hawks - Lindsay

Our pick 9 would come in here, be 2 spots worse again with WC getting pick 2 compo and GC likely trading pick 6 for points

If that’s true we’re in luck given he spent 7 years as Blues CEO.
Or, he knows all our dirt and can cause us the world of pain if so chooses.
If anyone out there believes the word of Voss or anyone from the club, stating that Curnow is going nowhere, if we have had discussions with GC and Syd, it tells you otherwise. Just a reminder to not believe ANYTHING.
Agree, but even if it's not 'Lies' in their book, it's also highly annoying that the club come out with such definitive rubbish.
Even if interest is purely being driven by the Curnow camp, it is irresponsible to supporters to give the any false hope.
They would be better just saying nothing until the end of the Trade period.

Based on games and performance.

When you create and establish bonds and friendships in a team environment you'll find people go to bat for you.

It doesn't mean that he'll get that chance. It means that people much closer to the situation than either of us haven't given up on him.

Even if we let him go he's going to keep some mates at the club.
Have you got a link to the photo?

His contract runs out next year and by any standards (particularly Carlton's) he is lucky to have been allowed to see this contract out.

How can there be any doubt that Voss is coaching for his job next season?
Why is he lucky? One bad season loses your job after playing finals in the previous 2? He deserves it as he has been our best coach since David Parkin. Are we meant to change coaches every 4 years.

One thing I believe separates the ultra competitive types from the negative Nellies is that the competitive types don't worry about the past and just get on with the next challenge.

Famously Michael Jordan is a live and let live guy

No thanks to Elijah. How many chances do people need?

Get harder plz Carlton and set a standard
Club are done with him. It’s either trade or we will pay him out. Hard line has already been drawn and well done to the club for saying enough is enough

It's easy to say from the outside "give him another chance" but for the people at the club who brought him in and backed him at his lowest, his actions would just feel like such a betrayal. A real slap in the face. I dont think trust could possibly be regained after that.

Exactly.

Any hint of desperation you lose all leverage.

The scenario and the way it's unfolding is quality entertainment.

Talk about holding your nerve.

The new Carlton regime are on full display.

Go lads.
Don't think Carlton would be desperate to make any deal for Charlie.
All pressure is on Curnow and Robbie...if a suitable trade isn't offered... we keep him on his cheap, front ended contract.

It'sa win-win situation.
