I'm aware Romero and Grant tied but I'd never heard about any shenanigans pertaining to the results until recently.

One (very strong) rumour was that Jose should have been the sole winner. But it ended up a tie... think your last para is on the money.

Plus Granty was equal second by one vote in the Brownlow. In the last game we lost to Bombers by a few points. Hird and Grant were clearly the 2 best players. Essendon win, Hird got 3 votes, Grant 2. Hird shared the Brownlow with Voss. If we'd won...
