Click bait bloggers at best.

Real Journo's dont write shit like that.

The OP insinuates direct involvement in the incident that has now be walked back to being asked about what he may or may not have been a witness to.

Massive difference and just shits me to tears when people do this crap without any retribution back at the OP for misleading and false headlines.

Sadly that’s the industry these days …gone are the days where the industry had integrity it’s all about the clicks and ad revenue over proper journalism which as much as what you said in your post

I would be getting my lawyer involved if I was Bruhn personally

'Sexual assault he may have witnessed'.

Kind of sounds like one of his mates - or someone he was with - was getting handsy and gropey with a woman, and he either saw or was suspected of seeing it.

Then I guess it depends on his reaction:

* If he did nothing, or thought it was funny or something, then absolutely that would be scumbag behaviour.

* If he tried to get his mate to stop or pulled him away, then he's done the right thing and the initial story is disgraceful stuff.

* If he didn't see it or know much about it, then he's been dragged into it a bit unfairly. I can see why the police would want to talk to him, but again the initial story is horribly slanted.

All of the above or it could also mean that he was literally just present where the incident is alleged to have occurred, he may have seen nothing.

I was going to respond to the original tweet you posted before you edited.

I would say that it's nice if we can get him back playing footy. At least it's not a dead spot on our list.

That said, while I hope he is indeed innocent, it sounds like he put himself in a pretty stupid position and was behaving like a pretty big F-wit. I wouldn't go so far as to say he deserved it, but when you play stupid games...

Warning: Suppression order may still be in place. Be careful what you say.

I removed that particular post as it was a retweet of Tom Morris' post with comments mentioning the accused person's name.

I deemed it wise to repost using just Morris' post (with out the accused's name), as I suspect that the suppression order is still in place, due to the failure of Tom Morris to mention the particular person's name.

And the year that has found new ways to suck continues to just, well .. not disappoint.

Whodathunk he was an innocent man all along.
At least it's over and it's not running into 2026.

Hopefully the club can pull a few into line and make it known that the dramas of 2025 cannot be repeated.

It's just so draining on both the club, and it's supporters. I'm amazed they made it as far as they did this year tbh with all that was going on.

It's not all their fault at all, but the reality is if you give the Wilsons', Ralphs' and Woods' of the world enough material, they're going to bury you.

They're scum, but at the end of the day, you're giving them a feeding frenzy here.

Yeah, wouldn't go that far.

There are no winners here. If she did not consent to sex, then it's a failure to protect women, a failure to ensure a person's safety, a failure to punish the perpetrators and yet another example of systemic failure around sexual assault/rape. If these two were falsely accused or there were misrepresentations, then they've had a year of their lives wiped and their reputations permanently scarred. If it's somewhere in the murky middle, each party will have gone through an extreme test of their fortitude, resilience and emotional energy, and many questions will remain unanswered and therefore filled with assumptions. The player in question will likely face assertions and sly comments for the rest of his career.

I've sat through rape trials. They are extremely taxing on all involved, even when it doesn't actually get to the trial itself. You can only hope that all parties find some semblence of peace in this outcome.

Always felt it was a bit of a sort of thing along the lines of Milne/Beams, and even just bordering onto the Josh Giddey scenario. Now I'm an old man, 57, and when I was young and always rather nerdy and reserved, girls/women wouldn't go near me with a barge pole. But of course when you're a sportsman, obviously fit and fairly much a catch for 'groupie' types, trouble can come looking for you. Nobody really knows what happened here, but I'm just glad he's now no longer facing charges.

But I still sympathise with the player given he has lost a year of his sporting life, has had innuendo facing him all this time, and even in the future will probably have to carry the cross of these accusations even with this call. He has in my eyes already suffered a massive punishment. I hope he can refocus his energies to putting in a great pre-season and rejoining our midfield, which certainly can use all the young talent it can get it's hands on.

Innocent until proven guilty …

The charges have been dropped by all accounts

I imagine we have a player hungrier than ever to play.. or we should….

Get back to training.. move on … and learn from it … and I mean everyone learn from it

Nobody bar those involved will ever know, either way.

Sexual assault trials are extremely difficult with a historically low conviction rate, because the issue isn't proving that sex happened - it's proving a lack of consent.

People aren't proven innocent - they are declared not guilty, and the difference matters. He now has to - and should rightly be - treated as innocent, but that is different to declaring that nothing was done wrong, and by consequence, the alleged victim must have been lying.

Seriously, this is the most well-thought-out take on the whole issue I've read yet. Bravo.

Yeah, wouldn't go that far.

There are no winners here. If she ...

I agree completely and, of course, sex crime cases are terribly complex and this one has the extra factor of being sleazy in even the most positive light.

But five people associated with the alleged victim swearing on oath that she said it was consensual and wanted to extort money?

This case is one I'm willing to go that far on. The prosecution should never have proceeded.

And that's the difference - this is not a "not guilty" verdict, where we can quite rightly run some of the analysis that people are - very sensitively and sensibly - proposing.

If he'd been found not guilty, I'd agree. Doesn't mean he's innocent, who knows what happened ...

But this is an abandoned prosecution. It's dropped charges even though the alleged victim continues to claim a crime occurred. But with compelling evidence she is lying.

This happens for two reasons. First, it's the 1970s and we're living in the gender dark ages. Second, it's because the DPP has come to its senses and realised that the case is weak.

In that case, "innocent" is fine by me.
