Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Can’t make players move clubs but if we are choosing between Florent and Hayward I’m choosing the guy that can play forward.
Our forward structure was shocking and improving the quality and experience there would be great.
I would also choose mcinerney over florent too but as I said we can’t force a player to move if they don’t want to!

Swap out Florent for Hayward in that bluemour and I’d do it. Probably need to send a pick back the Swans way though.

Adds, on average, 2 goals and 4 assists to the forward line per game, combined with some genuine pressure and the ability to run through the middle for periods.
Hayward averages 1.4 goals and 0.5 goal assists per game in 2025 (averages 1.5 i50s but that would likely incorporate the entirety of his GA stats)

I think our minds are fixated on getting a star in return for losing Charlie, but we have genuine star power in abundance with this squad already imo.

You get 2 firsts, I'd be pushing for Hayward but if not possible Florent and Campbell.

They're "role players" that are imo being played out of position at Sydney and could absolutely become top 10-20 players at our club.

We have to think bigger picture here, I think this rumoured Sydney deal absolutely gets done.

Yes - great point. People are fixated because they want to 'lord' it over overs how we won the deal.

The reason our salary cap and list is in the state it is is because it was top heavy with 'star' players.

I’ll do that deal. Florent and Papley and 2 firsts sounds good to me for a disgruntled key forward and pick 79.

Unless the two firsts are those from another club ie WCE future first, then Sydney's firsts are bunkum

I personally think Cincotta deserved another one year contract. Great kick and could be used as a rebounding defender.
Wouldn't have been against that. I was genuinely surprised he wasn't given another crack at it.

Interesting what he said in his interview on trade radio that if he was contracted for next year he woudlnt have played this year at all

I think we have made the right call not offering him another contract. Need to give his spot to someone younger. That said, I certainly hope he ends up on a list somewhere

Negativity isn’t realism and vice versa.
They are all just subjective opinions
MY subjective opinion/vibe/feel is -

1. That old adage, 'a bad workman blames his tools' is alive and well at our club.

You could substitute, bad coaches blame their players.

2. Sour grapism is alive and well.
Player x, y or z are leaving. Therefore player x, y or z are shithouse/sook/never get on the park/ will never recover their injury proneness etc. Etc, et- cetera....

3. Shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic.

Shuffle out assistant coach/player hacks and shuffle in top-up with new hacks.

4. Consistently behind the pack in innovation, clever picks, attracting quality, and coaching plan.
Self evident.
If we were a club getting things right on field, and had a program that meant players could flourish, and want to play for each other...not afraid of failing --encouraged to dare...

We do not. We have self-preservation and blaming players. We and Essendon and Melbourne have all failed to transition.

We are a snobby, foolish club with selfish, rich gits fighting for control, locked in the past - apologists - and elitists.
Management blames workers so their own jobs are safe.
Workers ( players) are not listened to. They are labelled as impertinent and sacked or encouraged to move on.
Those that want to move on, have valuable intel that may be the key to our club turning things around.

But are we listening?

Who are we?

I get that I'm in a small minority and that's ok.

I'll keep a little light of hope under a bell jar for 2026.

Am I in despair and envious of those teams that get it right?

Yep.

If we have an atmosphere and program that breeds selfishness instead of team spirit,
Then that is on US.

Is Rachele an A-grader or does he have enough potential in a position of need to open up the trade for CC? Has previously been linked to Carlton and would make others on our list better.

Would Hayward to Adel for Rachele be something Adel would look at? Hayward is reliable, accurate and different to what the Adel forward line has.

CC for Rachele, McInerney, 2xF1s is my best case trade (even if is cost the TDK pick for later picks this year).

I'm a massive fan of Rachele. Two goal a game forward with lots of upside so I'm biased on that one and will stay out of yes/no answer.

Fair, and some things in that i agree, some things i dont.
Not sure why you are replying to my post on realism or being a realist though

Just a springboard for thoughts. Not personal.😊
I'm largely avoiding this thread.
Reading we will get Florent. and that N.Melb coach kinda tipped me to post today I think.

No point when I'm so out of step with most who post in the thread.

Brisbane maybe put a little more in the Allen contract to ensure WCE got pick 2 compo.

Pick 19 for Starcevich would be the quid pro quo...

What's screwed is that when West Coast initially reached out for an assistance package they were told no to draft picks.

The second that they're linked with Starcevich the AFL gives them pick 19 as long as they trade it to Brisbane.

I wonder who pulled that trick?

Especially because Brisbane are bringing in 2 FAs who are both worth more than Starcevich. They don't deserve any compensation.
West Coast should take him through the PSD.

It’s extremely rare for A grade talent to be traded in exchange for players from the destination club.

Even rarer when the players are contracted to their current clubs.

This is exactly the circumstances we are facing with Charlie.

The only viable conclusions here is that:
  • Charlie is traded primarily for picks directly to an interested club
  • A third club with a star player who wants out is involved
  • Charlie stays

Why would GC want Jamara instead of Curnow. I get it from an age perspective, but after all he did this year. It must have been bad for the bulldogs not to play him. Him playing would have got them playing finals.

Hope Petracca picks Adelaide and GC go cold on Jamara so they get back on the Curnow train.
He’s virtually for free won’t cost anything.

I think Rachele has the vibe of a flog.

TA

Totally agree...

We need to keep bringing in good citizens and model human beings.

Under no circumstances do we bring in any player that might rub the opposition players or their supporters the wrong way (clearly that includes Paps as all opposition supporters think he's a flog).

We can't afford to be controversial and bring in anyone that might ruin our squeaky-clean list of model AFL players...

I do have one question though, how is that going for us???

Not sure (lol), but they have pick 18 and need to match a top five (should be) pick for Dan Annable who is in the Ashcroft class as a mid. (Still doesn’t work…….yet)
