Welcome to the SUNS Jed! With pick 3 in the 2023 draft we have secured a generational talent in Jed Walter.
The Gold Coast Suns Academy prospect, who measures 194cm, is as exciting a key forward prospect as the national draft and has similar attributes to Curnow with his power, strength, marking ability and attack on the footy. ”He's something special,” one recruiter said of Walter. Riewoldt mark II.

Now that Jed is officially a Sun, what do we know about him? He spent the early years of his life in South Perth and moved to the southern Gold Coast a decade ago at 8 years of age. Contrary to what West Aussies may have you believe, he started playing footy for the first time on the GC for Palm Beach Currumbin in the U9s. So he is very much Gold Coast football product. Supported West Coast when he was younger but always had a soft spot for the Suns and anyone who saw him on Gettable today would be aware that he actually knows his Suns history and proved it by blitzing his teammates in the Suns quiz. He is of course a product of PBC the club - and PBC the school. A generational talent that's sure to excite Gold Coast crowds for the next decade.

Buckle up, ladies and gentlemen. We're about to go on a wild ride with Jed Walter!

Give him #1 please
You really want to put our cursed number on him? I reckon play it safe and give him something like #20.

Flew home! Unreal athlete
Little known fact - Walter was actually a national champion in the 800 metres as a youngster and also competed at the nationals in cross country. He's always been a ridiculously gifted athlete and the 200 metres was his pet event as a teenager at PBC before he quit to focus on footy. I think you could tell yesterday that he was more of a 200m runner given he got the lead in the back half of the race and then blazed away.

I hope this GF sprint experience inspires him to get it together next year and really solidify himself as the power forward we've been waiting for. We all know he's got the potential to do it and I know we're all fully behind Jed. Get after it, Jed!

Do you guys think he plays firsts next year if you don’t get Curnow? I’ve got him in a keeper fantasy league so I always keep half an eye on his development. Is it just he’s not sticking marks that saw him dropped? He can clearly move based on that GF sprint! Hard to squeeze him in if Ethan Read keeps developing and/or you get Curnow but his vFL form after being dropped seems ok - picking up at least a couple a game.

I think Read moves back and Jed comes in

I think we go back to King, Walter, Read in round 1. NO Curnow.

Walters reduced game time was about team balance
He cant ruck, Read can and you couldnt have both in the team
I think with the sub gone you'll see Read/Moyle/Witts sharing and King and Walter starting
I'm pathologically opposed to us spending anything on Curnow
