They'll get checkers for free through free agency, it'd have to be a seperate trade for Oliver.
Actually it’s more likely they’ll want to trade for him so their FA compo for Spargo doesn’t get diluted.

700k off the contract Oliver is possibly the biggest buyer beware I have ever heard at trade time
😬 🛑 ✋

And then it turns out the Dogs will give away Jamarra for free 😂

Even in his madness Oliver is clearly elite in ability and very durable

but unless converting him to Zen Buddhism is part of the playing contract

…then taking him on… effectively signing him til 2030…

is like choosing to run out on to the freeway in your jocks*

* which is something Oliver may yet do

Maybe wishful thinking on my behalf, but would Mihocek have second thoughts heading to Melbourne ?

Looks like they're heading for a rebuild and most of their stars are departing en masse.
I don’t think. Checkers moving is motivated by success. It’s money and fair enough, he started late so deserves his payday.

I think he became extremely complacent at the Dees. His best is top 5 in the comp, but his worst is deplorable. Could Fly along with Nick, Pendles and co unlock his best again? For a late pick and a heavily reduced salary id be interested
Yeah on balance this is where I sit too.

There’s some huge risks but if the deal is right, and if he has a genuine desire to improve his life (something the club would need to investigate and make a call on), it might be right. A real late pick, and a very reduced salary. Anything other than that, a big pass from me.

You dont understand the free agency model, do you? He doesnt get a choice if they match. That's the difference between restricted and unrestricted. If Port matches he has to stay.
If you’re going to try to talk smack about knowing the FA model you should at least make an effort to know it yourself.
If port matches he doesn’t have to stay, he’s still an uncontracted player. The club he wants to go to just hast to facilitate a trade instead.

AFL list management is becoming more like SuperCoach every year.

All they need now is to end the trade lockout every Sunday night and let coaches rage trade their players before they make it to work on Monday.

Im usually pretty optimistic. Maybe im missing something , just watched a highlights vid of his afl play. Decision making and disposal is questionable

Some strong marks and defensive wins though. We need a genuine big bodied defender for depth.

I’m optimistic. Let’s see how he goes in an experienced team vs Richmond.

The ignorance is mind boggling. If it's completed by trade, how is it free agency?

Checkers still keen on going to Dees with the experience being gutted? If they are going down path of youth then makes fck all reasoning to offer a contract to Checkers.

Also, Dees can't expect much if they are saying Oliver is going to play VFL. You certainly don't pay a 1st round pick for a VFL player.
