I'm hoping we just ban him from kicking
The kicking never bothered me. Last year he improved it a lot before regressing back this year.

What annoyed me the most was the fend offs and trying to fight through tackles. It looked good when it worked but most times it didn't

Suggesting about pick 35 ?

Yeah if its 4 years with a trigger for 5th as I suspect it might fall just short of band 2 and be band 3. We will see on monday.

I don't think you've lowballed him, but Cats are thin on inside mids, so him coming would probably be our number 1 inside mid so that probably appeals to him.

I image he's behind some of your other mids in the pecking order and even further if you get Merrett.
Perfect summation. He wants to be no 1 inside mid and is 3rd at Hawthorn atm. Will be a good ying to Holmes Atkins Smith Yang.

In saying that his kicks are long and penetrate.

He used to be really good at it though. For some reason it just didn't work for him this year, but before that it was a key part of his game. Regardless I wish him well - he was good for us at a time when we didn't have much to look forward to.

Unfortunately the dollars involved means it will likely be band 3.
Really that's surprising, Silvagni got a contract that was Band 2. Pretty crazy to think that the contracts would be that far apart.

Good thing is Cats gameplan is to possess the ball as little, longer kicks to space and beating teams on the backfoot, fastest transition scoring end to end. Little as possible with ball in hand so less disposals per player and less time holding onto the footy where he won’t be trying to fend off everyone.

Cats also prioritise footy to grass so how it gets in there is not as big a deal as it is playing for a side that requires precision ball movement.

Reckon Worps will much better suit Geelong than the Hawks

Gee I hope it's Band 2. That would mean pick 20 odd (which is approximately fair for Worpel).

Band 3 is Pick 35 - which in a weak draft is pretty awful for a 26 year old that has earnt Brownlow votes 16 times in the past 3 seasons.

To the extent I'd hope Hawthorn would then match and force a trade - which I think is unlikely.
