Think he was Billy’s step ladder in the prelim tooThe best thing Starfish, as my son calls him, has ever done was being Bobby's stepladder.

You pose probably one of the more realistic scenarios to be honest, and it makes me sad, as much as I'd love to see Humphrey out there alongside Beau. The club have been really eager on Humphrey for a long time now so I'm curious to see how they approach this (if at all)Would anyone trade Bobby if it meant getting Bailey Humphrey?

I thought the same. Kicking looks iffyDo you mean potential to be worse by foot than Long? He literally missed every target by foot that wasn’t a sideways dump kick.

Acquire Ollie Henry and trade him immediately will you? Enjoy the surf up north mate!Would anyone trade Bobby if it meant getting Bailey Humphrey?
I just can't see any other mid options available this year.
Maybe the club really is content with going again with same players but moving magnets, who knows.

Yeah and still a possibility that over the Summer Starcevich might be medically retired like Murphy or almost 100% if he gets concussed again at any stage next year or whenever that may happen.Yep that's what I thought too.
Considering they've just received an assistance package from the AFL, mostly due to their own poor recruiting & list management.
And I think they've had 4 of their players medically retired due to concussion.
I imagine that the Dees would either want a first round pick for Oliver, or the acquiring team to take on most/all of his contracted wage. I doubt we can get him for a 2nd or 3rd rounder AND expect the Dees to subsidise his wages. Its one or the other, surely? If Oliver can be had cheap and for 600k a year we’d be silly not to look at him.
Desperately need to add some talent next to Nick and with no trade capital our options are extremely limited.
He’d be worth it on current form. And If, and it’s a big if, he can get back anywhere near his best we will have made out like absolute bandits. Only 28 and a fresh start may be all he needs.
I see. Perhaps he could refrain from talking in riddles & just friggin say what he wants to say. Would avoid confusionNo Idea at the Moment

Where to and for what?Would anyone trade Bobby if it meant getting Bailey Humphrey?
Purely as a hypothetical, a straight swap.Where to and for what?
I like both a lot
You can’t tell a bloke he is playing VFL and expect a first rounder. It’s not the pies fault they grossly overpaid him.I imagine that the Dees would either want a first round pick for Oliver, or the acquiring team to take on most/all of his contracted wage. I doubt we can get him for a 2nd or 3rd rounder AND expect the Dees to subsidise his wages. Its one or the other, surely?
I’m a yes to Oliver if the club feel he can evolve his work in the contest from a ball hunter to more defensively minded. The guys been loose for most of his career and it has never impacted him until he got that hamstring last year. You’re talking all of those accolades and at one point he was on track to be the greatest ever Dee that doesn’t happen by accident despite being an absolute muppet.Disappointed we didn't have a red hot crack at Worpell. Glad we've apparently gone cold on May but I reckon Oliver is worth the risk.
He's a four-time B&F winner and three-time AA rep. A great ball-winner, tackle-breaker and ball distributor by hand. Having Clarry feed The Daicai, DeGoey and McCreery could be pretty exciting. He just needs to keep the handball-to-kick ratio at 2:1 or 3:1, not 1:1 or less.
Given we have no useful picks to trade, I imagine that we'd have to agree to take on most of his salary.
100%Would anyone trade Bobby if it meant getting Bailey Humphrey?
As a straight swap you’d have to entertain it. Humphrey’s ceiling is De Goey-esque (still only 21 and inconsistent), but I dunno… I am anticipating a career year for BobbyPurely as a hypothetical, a straight swap.
Seems a bit counterproductive. The AFL help Eagles out & they're using one of those picks to bring a player in who could be one head knock away from retirementYeah and still a possibility that over the Summer Starcevich might be medically retired like Murphy or almost 100% if he gets concussed again at any stage next year or whenever that may happen.
