Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

2027 draft is the year Tasmania get all their concessions. Nobody is going to trade their 2026 picks for 2027 draft.

1. That's if they do come into the competition. No certainty despite the announcements.

2. Essendon will need to find another pick and if they want to shore that up early might believe with so many of our players over 30 and with TDK, Jack SOS and potentially Charlie gone that we're ripe for the picking.

However, similar to us, they don't need to trade forward yet either but I see the appeal for them.

People have said a lot the a grader we want can come from a third club.

I believe with the news tonight, that Humphrey is that player whether Charlie goes to the Suns or the Swans.

It helps that Petracca is a real chance of going to GC. We just turn Bailey’s head enough to want to come to us and back home and a mega trade with multiple clubs can get us the required outcome we want.

The issue is if Tasmania bid early on Bewick. It will be very difficult for them to match.

This makes an amount of sense.

But I am an old enough hand at this to know to keep my powder dry.

Until, of course a trade is requested

Tas needs to trade a bunch of their picks, condition of getting them.

Dons can probably manufacture a way to enough points.

Trade a player, trade a future pick etc. so forth.

Their real problem is their list is shit, filled with overpaid role players.

Lucky for them they are getting two pretty good kids via NGA this year. Mosquito fleet with Kako

It's really unfair for them because they could end up with natural picks that are good enough to match a bid but get pushed back by Tassie concessions so arent.

A team that gets pick 5 in normal years ends up with pick 10 in 2027. Thats a massive points difference.

We don't have to trade Charlie this year for that to happen.
How go you know? Better to plan ahead than end up with egg on your face. I happen to think we have too many fingers in too many pies, we can't possibly manage it. And even if we do manage one, one won't be enough.

This could end up a black comedy for the club if it doesn't take heed.

We can’t rule out a Humphrey/curnow trade. Everything is aligned. Reckon it could happen
Curnow wants to go to Geelong.

Carlton wants to keep Curnow.

Suns are on the up.

Blues are playing snakes & ladders.

Suns categorically state they won’t trade Humphrey.

What part is aligned exactly?

Charlie prefers Geelong but has Suns and Swans on his list and has met both Dimma and Cox.

Suns are chasing Petracca hard.

News comes out tonight we are chasing Humphrey hard and believe his head can be turned and we want A-Grade players involved in any trade for Charlie.

Maybe that’s what’s aligned.

Riding the rumour train.

Not sure why Humphrey would want to leave or why Suns would want to trade him.

Not sure why they would want CC, in light of others opportunities they have.

Rumours aside, not seeing it.

As much as I don’t want to trade Charlie I think it’s pretty naive to think all this stuff around Charlie is “rumours”.

trac is the one who can unlock the trade period for everyone

Will you post something positive if it doesn’t?

Just got a feeling gold coast are going to have a massive play at curnow and petraca, getting them would push Humphrey and Walter out, could also be the reason they are checking out jamara because they know carlton will ask for Walter
Let's hope you're right!

Honestly thinking about it now, the whole JUH thing popped up out of nowhere once Dimma acknowledged potentially wanting Charlie.

This may just be the Sunnies playing their trump card to make us fold in negotiations.

If I'm GW & Austin, I'm calling their bluff and forcing them to either commit to a player who I think deep down they truly don't want to, or pony up at the very last minute of trade week.

Stand your ground!

Funny you should say that.

The Charlie Curnow trade will be officially announced by the AFL on deadline day at 7:29PM. Biggest trade of the trade period. You know it will be.
