Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

If Petracca goes to Adelaide GC go hard for Charlie and we probably get Humphrey

If Petracca goes to GC he probably squeezes out Humphrey and we're in the box seat.

It doesnt matter if charlie wants to go to geelong or not. If he wants to go, we send him where we get the best deal. Thats how that works. He cant hold us ransom by wanting to go to a club who has nothing to satisfy us. Otherwise he stays.

I loved Charlie, but not this year and now im at the point i want to cash in on him. But not give him away to these thirsty clubs. We need to set us up for the future.

Is it true that that whoever draft's a player like this has to honour his existing contract, or is it voided and the new club sets conditions that are suitable?

Player is owed the contract value but once they depart a club that contract is done and a new one commences.
Player can review their $, if they so desire but their decision I.e. longer term or just to stay in the AFL.

Yes but if for example Trac went to GC, it might be that Charlie goes to Sydney and Humphrey to us.

Probably helps the Dees with the Humphrey stuff and makes the Suns less likely to go after Curnow.

But Dees are losing a lot of experience and talent (Petracca/Oliver/May/McVee) - not sure if they will be that attractive to anyone atm. New coach might help

I would offer our TDK compo pick and future 2nd or something similar for Humphrey in a separate deal. But would it leave us enough points this year for Dean/Ison is the question.

Sunnies do have the picks for Trac, however if the Dees are stubborn and don't fold in negotiations, they will be after a Humphrey type in return no doubt.

Said last night I've felt like this was on the cards ever since Trac to the Sunny boys came about. Interesting times.
