I tried to watch it last night but nup hated it
Was really disappointed in Happy Gilmore 2
Was so looking forward to Gilmore 2 but yeah it had its moments but...
Same last night Gladiator 2- good action scenes but a plot line..

Intresting how divided people are kn HG2. I think films like that are like maccas, meant to be enjoyed but not mistaken for a gourmet meal. It's meant to be fun and I think it did that. About 60 cameos too.

Nosferatu - Hideous, awful, laughable

Not a patch on Coppola’s & that one had Keanu & Winona hamming it up.

Every single character in this one is so over the top, it’s almost parody of the genre.

There is not one scintilla of even a fright in this laborious 125 minutes of slow motion dross.

One star - for the cinematography
Watched it on the plane at 2x speed to make it interesting

28 Years Later is great. Definitely recommend.

And I really liked Materialists, but my girlfriend hated it :tearsofjoy:

Also recently watched Before Sunrise, and Before Sunset for the first time. Can't believe I hadn't seen them before, incredible films.

I loved Nosferatu, but my girlfriend hated it.
Can guarantee that a plane is not the place to watch it though.
I think it's time to find a new girlfriend

Been to some good ones recently

To Live and Die in L.A.
Went to a screening at the Lido, pretty amazing very cool 80s action movie by William Friedkin, starring William Petersen and Willem Dafoe. And by 80s, I mean 80s! Had seen it before a long time ago, but was great to see it on the big screen. Some of it is pretty dated, but the colouring and the soundtrack are incredible.

Relay
Solid and tight conspiracy thriller about a guy who helps corporate whistleblowers get out of trouble.

Eddington
Amazing western action thriller satire set in New Mexico during covid. It is sooooooo dark, and poking, and very very funny. One of the best of the year.

And then a couple at home:

Rewatched High Fidelity for the first time in a really long time.
Very funny, really stands up.

The Order
True story about the FBI investigation into a neo-Nazi terrorist organisation in the north western States in the early 80s, starring Jude Law and Nicholas Hoult by Aussie director Justin Kurzel. Thought this was really good too.

I've been on a really good run lately, but that came to an end last night with Caught Stealing.
What a disappointment. Like a try-hard Guy Ritchie movie that just couldn't get the tone right.
Zoe Kravitz is very beautiful though. The sexy times at the start is the clear highlight.

On the other hand, I cannot stop thinking about One Battle After Another.
It's just started a 1 week run in 70mm at the Astor, so I will see it again there for sure, and it's probably going to be 3 or 4 times at the cinema for me.
