After Mad Monday I'm not sure that line has worked.
For the record, I couldn't care less, but you'd think of all the players at the Cattery, Danger might have suggested something different for the day.
What did Geelong even do that was so bad?
Wilson herself had no issue why does everyone else?
Problem is sidebottom pendles Howe won't be there in 27 to pull Oliver into line what then? Need a long term plan or clauses or he could corrupt a young player someone like Nick daicos

Maybe clubs would actually want to speak and meet with him face to face.
Why do you think the meeting with King only lasted 12 minutes
He couldn't look at that face anymore

Doubtful.
Doesn’t the formula also involve B&F finishes and other accolades? Not sure if he has featured anywhere in Carlton’s top 5 in their B&F. Turns 28 in December.
Also Morris would be going on the TDK compo pick which he thinks will fall around pick 9, giving their next compo pick in Silvagni being pick 10....

Pies trying to move hill to the GC (GC real keen on him) but hill doesn’t want to move. Would unlock Humphrey deal for us.

That makes a lot of sense, for the suns who need a small forward, with Hardwick who seems keen on redemption stories, and for us to avoid the ongoing media circus. Funny one, I suggested we trade Hill as part of a Rowell deal mid way through the season and people weren’t keen, how sweet would that look right now if Hill hadn’t gone off the rails the past 4 months.

Question still is, Hill+what to get Humphrey?

Where did you hear this? As in, was this reported somewhere?

Not sure how I'd feel about this

Surely it's time the AFL scraps the current FA compensation model.

It's time they start factoring in the quality of the players leaving. Would have to start including club B&F's, league honours, AA's, games played over a certain time frame, and any other factors like it.

Also surely the AFL are smart enough to know that they need to update the compensation bands to reflect the contract inflation that has been happening over the last few years .
No compensation imo if someone leaves bad luck.
But then you need to scrap academy advantages. But if you do that then father son has to go.
So the weird compo formula might just have to live with.

Have wanted to see Humphrey at the Pies for years now. Extremely unlucky that the opportunity arises this year of all years, when we have zero currency. If we somehow bring him in we'll have to accept saying goodbye to someone beloved most likely.

Both under contracts as well. Hill 4 years, Humphrey 3 years. There would have to be negotiations on the outstanding contracts and other future picks involved, you would think.
I just feel Bobby is in for a big 2026 however. His commitment is there, as l just saw his insta post of him training away in the gym...

I'll never understand players having a preference for one club one year, then another the next

What changed in that year?

How does Trac go from wanting to play for Collingwood - the team he barracked for, has mates at, trains next door to where he trains right now (so his life doesn't have to change at all), to wanting to uproot his entire life to play for Gold Coast?

Why wasn't it Gold Coast last year? if "weather" is a reason, that didn't change in there last year. If "escaping the bubble" is the reason, that also hasn't changed in the last year

Always find that stuff odd
There is an article floating around in which he reported last year he rated Carlton's & the Pies list for 2026 and wanted to play for a contender in Victoria. Other clubs had already committed to trades so he was limited to Vic. He rates GCS list over the next 4-5 years and wants to play for a contender. Presumably he is not interested in us or we have said no due to the size of his ongoing contract

It’s not unlucky, we paid a hefty price for a player not of need in Houston, and paid in a future first that we knew could restrict us for opportunities to arise like this one, where a much bigger need in Humphrey may become available.

It was poor management and strategy.

2 seasons back Oliver played with a busted hand and a partially torn knee ligament for majority of the season. He couldn't even make a fist.

This year Dees started turning him into a defensive midfielder which obviously was phase 1 of moving on from him.

I don't believe for 1 second he is past his prime.

Been in a shit environment while battling some mental demons.

Even Petracca has been average in the Dees system.

He's an elite clearance player and we would be mad not to seriously enquire.
Honestly what the hell happened?
From 16 to 22 was an absolute jet.
Then must have gone off the rails extreme.
Still decent enough but was in the top handful of players in the comp.in his prime

What would Humphrey be worth?

Not going anywhere near him if his price is 2 first rounders.

Would rather invest in the draft and get 2 young mids.

I should rephrase. Unlucky for fans, lol

I'll reiterate my point from yesterday

It's impossible for us to get him*

*outside doing something outrageous like trading a contracted, young, big name player like Bobby Hill

Hill and pick 34 should be more than enough.

When a 2 time AA half back is available, you do what it takes to get it . It's poor coaching that didn't utilize him to his best ability.

If we're going this hard to get a player tells me we are either allowed to trade out our future 1st pick, despite us apparently not falling in line with the 2 in 4 rule, or we are prepared to move on a player of value.
You would think the Suns want future picks as their early picks this year will be eaten up by bids on Uwland and Patterson...
