Would like him back. But unlikely regarding what Saints would want and possible salary demands.

I would take him if the trade is cheap
Sounds like he is getting pushed out, so I would assume he would be very cheap.
Saints may even pay some of his salary.

You wouldn't want to play Viney and Steele in the same midfield, and Viney just re-signed for three years.
FWIW, this is how the Herald Sun summarised the 2025 salaries of your highest paid players.Word is that his contract was heavily front-ended (like Marshall) so the remaining years are very affordable.
Let’s be reasonable and make it 3 FRPDWould be pretty interested in him for the crows if he was cheap. Any reports on his salary and what the Saints would expect in a trade?
Would almost guarantee Steele would have almost zilch left to pay on his contract lolBeen saying it for weeks now....involve him in the Liam Ryan deal - WCE take on his (likely inflated) salary, add another year and offer the opportunity to transition to coaching.
I doubt it happens but he's exactly the type we need.
More likely he lobs back to GWS when they decide Clayton Oliver isn't worth the hassle.
Nah, in all seriousness, it sounds like they aren’t trying to push him out, just letting him know it’s an option if he wants to do it.Let’s be reasonable and make it 3 FRPD

I'd take him for the right price.I thought he would be good for Adelaide, if he can be managed the right way.
They need an inside bull, and it would free up Dawson to be more outside.
Not the same player he was in 2020/21 but think he can still play a role
Only going to be 30 next season so not impossible that he could get back somewhere near his best. Think going back to GWS would be the best fit, their midfield completely drops off after their main two
West Coast should chase him but he hasn’t had any team success in his career so I think he should try and find a contender first
What would you guess his remaining salary to be?Nah, in all seriousness, it sounds like they aren’t trying to push him out, just letting him know it’s an option if he wants to do it.
The saints will want to feel like they have a form of a win; so any form of 2nd round makes sense for me.

Must be cooked stay away Essendon
Sold.Something between 35-45 probably gets it done, in the event he wants to leave.
He would bee keeping one of our younger players out too. We might be a dumpster right now but in the long run Essendon will come out on top whilst Saints will continue to finish mid table by topping upWe'd play him as a half-forward but if he wants to play solid midfield time in 2026, he'd be keeping one of our kids out. He knows that and the club knows that.
I hope Essendon stay away also. Jack deserves better than that dumpster fire of a club.
By all reports it seems as though he is willing to stay to see some success at the Saints before the end of his career even if that is in a diminished role.
Couldn't see him going to Essendon, West Coast, North or Melbourne.
If a team currently in the window like a Hawthorn or Adelaide could sell him a vision of where he would fit in their system he would have to look at it you would think.
