Disregard my wombat burrow theory. I've done some research and they don't live anywhere near there. Could a wedge-tail eagle take a child? Unlikely l guess, but we didn't know dingoes could take babies either.

Just trying to think of anything other than some very unpleasant possibilities. It's been too long.
I’m thinking of the case of Daniel O’Keefe who was found under his parent’s house several years later.
Police couldn’t explain why he wasn’t found years earlier in police searches.
It’s possible Gus hasn’t been found.
As much as I love the sniffer dogs, they’re not always able to pick up a scent due to different reasons.
No matter what’s happened it’s not looking good for this little boy.

No one has mentioned snakes. There are some very deadly species in those parts that unfortunately could kill a small child very quickly.

But where’s the body then?

He’s 4, he’s not going to wander too far. You’ve got 100 people looking for him in a 2k radius . Someone should have found something by now .

Maybe a reason if he’s crept in somewhere and hasn’t come out or responded.
When you are looking for something, you always check the most obvious places first. Then you quickly move on to less and less likely places. Usually, you will find it if you go back to the first places and search more thoroughly there.

Apparently unmarked wells and mines in the area too.
Worrying there’s been no sign of him though.

A typical four-year old weighs between 13-20kg, and a wedge-tailed eagle can lift 50% of its body weight (they weigh up to 4kg).

A wedge-tailed eagle is more than unlikely here.

I thought about an eagle. Not beyond imo. Hope they find the little one although time is against.😞

What was it they said about William? Was it "a complicated history

Close to the house within a 4yr olds wander range? Would the family know where those are? If there is a body somewhere wouldn't there be interest from animals by now?

South Australia police say they are scaling back the search as they couldn't find anything in the target area. They are continuing with other lines of investigation. So sad and baffling.
Hmmm "other lines o inquiry", sounds fishy.

I think from what they’ve said no one knows where they all are as they’re unmarked but I don’t know if that was in the radius they were talking about.
Yes possibly animals although I think they would have found some evidence of that unless he’s in a hole or somewhere.
Police have said they believe at this stage he has wandered off. They might have some reason to believe the family.
It’s really sad for this little boy and I feel for his family and feel that they need some compassion at this point of time.

I’ve watched this case and it’s just so sad. They have now called off the search after 7 days! Surely they would keep looking for this dear little boys body for the families sake

I’m completely baffled by this. A child does not just walk off and keep walking, even a 4 yo. Especially a child who has been brought up on a property like this with the elements so harsh.

Why was there only 1 shoe print?

There is something not right here and there has to be someone who knows where this child is! If he’s not in the dams or around the property itself then someone or something has taken him bc with that many people on the ground, air etc something more than one footprint would have been found.

Surely right?

Very suspicious and I’m surprised the police have called the search off

Heaps of outbuildings & stuff around the homestead area. Imo very easy for an exploratory child to come to grieve & not easily be discovered.

I think the search should be concentrated there, as air / thermal etc should have picked him up if in the ‘land’ regions, it’s not thick scrub country, it’s mostly salt bush plains ( hence running sheep )
