Defs not a big chance, but Scullie will be working VERY hard now otherwise Trac will be on his way back to Casey for day 1 of preseason.
It'll get done for picks, despite our 'need a player' bluster. We'll probably take Ainsworth of their hands as steak knives lol

I'm very firmly in the players camp, but if we end up with 6 & 7 and get Robey and Dovaston then we're incredibly setup for 23s and under going forward.
There's just no incentive for them to move Humphrey at all. Would be incredibly stupid on their part – just hold him to his contract and back Dimma to convince him to re-sign later on. He hasn't exactly been kicking and screaming to get out.

Doubt he comes to us but those clubs are better off selling players high when they wanna leave than letting em sulk and lose value. Especially if he gets even less midfield time next year with Trac coming in

No I agree they would very much want to keep him, but Humphrey is VERY keen to get back to Vic and we're offering outrageous money, so IMO he will push as hard as he can. I reckon it will come down to where Dimma thinks they sit - If he genuinely believes they should be aiming for a flag next year they will go for Trac, but if he thinks they will be playing finals for a few years and maybe crack at a flag in 2-3 years or more then they'll hold.

It's either Trac straight up for Humphrey, or it's Trac and 24 for 6 & 7 now IMV. Only two options (barring another club getting involved).

Money can make one change their opinion. But we could just be getting used for leverage like Viney did to us.

I don't doubt that Humphrey is keen on the offer, but again, no real incentive for Gold Coast given they'll likely be able to get the Trac trade done with picks.

Saints are at least having a crack. Gotta respect that. We're gonna lose generational talent plus a young kid who has shown a lot of promise, and end up with a bunch of picks in a poor draft lol. #demonspirit

And as much as I'd love Humphrey, why on earth would GC even entertain trading him? We'd have to offer god like money to get it across the line. If we cant even attract a Flanders, then we're not attracting much in quality. We're gonna have to take whatever picks we get and hit the draft hard before Tas do.

The King reckons we need a deal that's going to turn our head. Picks for another Weiderman or Jefferson my neck isnt moving a millimetre.

Humphrey or Franchise Nepo Babies can come watch Trac sulk it up at Casey Fields.

Mich0 you must be pretty excited with what Lamby can do with picks 6+7 in the draft? maybe trade them for pick 5 and take the next Weid :)
So you didn't want Flanders and don't want the picks – what do you want? Haha

This was literally earlier on this page. You confuse me, Dan.

yep, this is all rolling out perfectly for us I reckon. Gives the Suns more draft currency to give us. 6+7 for Trac and maybe we give another pick back to help them with academy points. And then potentially take those picks to the draft, or turn 1 or both of them into F1's

lol fair.

I actually ideally would want to move the picks for future 1's. so we have 3 F1's next season (ours and then the 2 we get from GC) and just cop 1 season of hell this year. But I'll also be happy to take 6+7 to the draft, just less than ideal. but I also don't know the draftees but I'm sure JT knows better.

haha sorry. I mean. Great, we get good picks. now I think it's either (assuming we get 6+7)

1- take both picks to the current draft.
2- trade both the picks to teams that will give up F1's.
3 - take one of the early picks (6 or 7) to the draft and trade the other one for a F1.

Either way, I'm happy with all 3 options, but ultimately would prefer option #2

There's still some pretty good prospects in that range, but get what you're saying

Will package them up with our F1 to get back our original first rounder, then draft another half back flanker.

In all serious though, I wouldn’t be offering anything back. 6+7 which becomes 8+9 on a weak draft, while they are likely making Tracs contract bigger. As the biggest marque player they have attached since GAJ we can hold them to ransom like Freo did on Weller.

Make GC move heaven and earth. Ask for Ainsworth as steak knives.

If we accept picks 6 + 7 for Petracca, whoever signed off on trading our first this year (pick 5) should be fired out of a cannon into the sun.
Fair call. The only thing I would say though is that Robey has come from the clouds to be a player Jason Taylor really likes and will possibly be available around that range.
