Sanders will go home to Tassie. They need local talent to legitimise their start up team/club. It will definitely happen. You can’t blame the kid at all, he will be set up for life, and be part of history. And it may be a good thing that we know now. Only one player per club can be poached, so that means Frejiah or Darcy or Croft or Hynes and Dolan, it won’t be.

Man I just had a thought. Maybe we were so desperate to get Sanders because we knew Tassie would come for him over our other young stars?! If so, that's legitimately 4D chess by our list managers. We have a LOT of players whom I would hate to lose more than Sanders.

The Dogs are working on a couple of big moves behind the scenes that neither the media nor our ITKs are aware of. I don't know anything but I know enough to know that Sam Power is masterminding some hectic shit.

Anyone got any idea why we’re after the suns pick 6?

Wouldn’t have anything to do with Butters would it? Hmmm

Pick 6, 2026 first pick, 2027 first pick?

Is that enough?

The part of the Tassie agreement I'm happy about is that there is no direct pathway through which they can poach contracted players. It substantially limits the pool of our players they can access without needing to offer an insane trade deal. Their signing bonus will be used ahead of the 2028 and 2029 seasons, meaning the following players are the only ones that they could poach without any push back:
2026:

Ryan Gardner
Ryley Sanders
Jordan Croft
Rhylee West
Jamarra Ugle Hagan
James Harmes
Harvey Gallagher
Jedd Busslinger
Joel Freijah
Buku Khamis
Lachie McNeil
Lachie Jaques
Luke Kennedy
Lachie Bramble
Lachlan Smith
Zac Walker
Tom Liberatore
Michael Sellwood
Arthur Jones
Adam Treloar

2027:

Bailey Williams
Cody Weightman
Riley Garcia
James O’Donnell (Cat B Rookie)
Matthew Kennedy ?
Cooper Hynes
Rory Lobb
Luke Cleary

2028:

Laitham Vandermeer
Sam Davidson
Josh Dolan
A lot of players we'd prefer not to lose there but nothing spectacularly terrible (yet - obviously some of these guys might develop to the point where it's a problem), with plenty of time to seek to extend before then. The signings of Darcy, Richards, Naughton and Bont were huge.

Is there a restriction on how many Tassie can take from each Club ? Would hate to lose 2 or 3 who are out of contract in 2027 and 8 while sides like Geelong lose no one

I thought the same thing, for a moment then remembered we really wanted the Wizard but he was picked just before Sanders. Watson would be just what we needed.

I see him as more of an oliver type than Petracca.
I actually see alot of upside in Hynes. Big body, has good skills and appears to be a smart kid, not a dk. I spoke to him a couple of times and he has his head in the right place imo. I think he will be good.

A maximum of one uncontracted player from from each club can be signed as a free agent otherwise they'd need to trade.
If the club gets Gold Coast pick 6 in this years draft who do you think the club have its eyes on. Just asking because you are pretty good when it comes to this stuff

Saints flogs calling our pursuit of Wilkie as a "debacle ":

"
Bains is weak and shafted Chris Grant because Grant disagreed withn Beveridge.
Beveridge is way more powerful at that club than Lyon will ever be at the Saints.
The Wilkie debacle was completely instigated by Beveridge who ran roughshod over Power.
When it wrnt belly up as Power said it would, don't be surprised if he gets blamed."

Lol morons

Morons is taking a failed coach for a second time.
