Martin Mattner wins third SANFL premiership as coach. Getting into rarefied air.

Jack Oatey Medallist was Angus Anderson, apparently ex-Swans academy player.

The knock on him from our point of view that he was 190cm, powerful and big bodied, all undesirable traits for a Swans player.

Lewis Taylor wins the medal in the Hanpden league for Terang-Mortlake

I know LRT always comes up as one of the most underrated players of recent years and it's mostly among opposition supporters, but he just shouldn't be especially when it comes to Swans supporters at least. A genuinely great player for a long time and true grand final specialist.
Seems a very good person as well.

LRT might not make my Best 22 Swans side but if I am making a Best 22 to play in a Grand Final he is the first player I pick

He also manages Caiden and Will Edwards!

Darcy Cameron wins the Copeland , and Daicos 2nd like the brownlow

Keeping an incredibly injury-prone Naismith over Nankervis and then Cameron is up there for the worst list management decision by the club this century.
We have been way too tolerant with injury prone players. Naismith the worst example and Sam Reid not that far behind. Hope history not repeating itself with Amartey. Not to mention playing Mills and McVeigh in 2016 GF, Reid in 2022 Gf and Logan M last GF.

Our ruck was set back years by this and also the time and money invested into Tippett. Eventually, we had to trade Aliir for the picks to get Hickey who only gave us 2 good years before he was past it. If we had played our cards right, we could've had Nankervis and / or Cameron rucking for us the last 10 years and still have Aliir down back, negating our desperate need for a 3rd tall defender.

Back on to Cray, I was very disappointed by the manner of his retirement speech to his then Tigers team mates. Couldn't even bring himself to say a small thank you to the club that stuck by him and his busted knees all those years. If one didn't know his history, you would've thought he was a career Richmond player.

As much as I love AJ, he was in the rehab room for a bloody long time.
