Was a great initial punch to the side if the head/ear, which got it done. I'm happy for the win. I still wouldn't have minded if it went on a little longer.

Don't fool yourself into thinking Ankalaev wasn't copping damage in that situation. Even if it's only partial connections with the head, it's still an accumulation of damage. Herb was watching the damage accumulate and said no more. Good stoppage.

Agreed Ulberg although against weaker opposition he is on a 9 fight win streak.. Jiri is on a 2 fight win streak but against stronger opposition admittedly so at worst Jiri should fight Ulberg if Alex wants a spell.

After seeing what the commentators were saying after the fight, I think Alex will go up to HW and take on Aspinall. Carlos v Jiri for the vacant LHW belt seems likely. Hopefully they do it in Sydney in the early parts of next year and Volk gets booked on that card as well.

If he beat Tom he'd be the GOAT, can't see how he could because Tom has ground game and power in the hands.
If there's one guy I wouldn't underestimate, it's Alex Pereira. The guy continues to prove all the doubters wrong and you're right in saying he'd become the GOAT if he takes the HW belt off Aspinall. Fight week next year feels like a good time to do it.

Was instantly my favourite fighter from 2 minutes into his first fight when he decided to try and block with his forehead to try and break Volkans hand then slept him not long after
Not sure there'll ever be another fighter like this guy. Unique in every way

He had plenty of time. Herb warned him and he was turtling. Not grabbing any legs or trying to stop. It could of been stopped 4/5 blows before.
MMA should be banned if that was a bad stoppage.
