  • Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
  • Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane
Out:
  • Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
  • Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
  • Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41

2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

Dev on the rookie list is a must. Just promise to sign him as an SSP when the period opens. Unless we have a choice to add him to the rookie list rather than the main list as a DFA/through PSD? I don't think we can.
DFA and goes on the rookie list.
The haggling between BRI and WC would be around all these things, pick 23 for Starcevich and delist Dev is our offer.
Would have thought to get Dev to nominate WC we would have offered 2 years on rookie list.

Then you and I watched a different interview. It wasn't ambiguous about pick 16. Gave me plenty of confidence it's not on the table and then did a lovely shot across the bow regarding club ties players and bidding according to where we see them in our draft order.
I guess when I hear words like 'ideally' and 'at this stage' when discussing if we will hold on to the pick - I think it is more than a little ambigous but hope you're right and also acknowledge that it's not fair to pick on the phrasing of every sentence. Just noting it wasn't something that makes me rest as easy as a Suns supporter after listening to the GC list manager talking about Humphrey.

Can't wait until all this bulls**t is behind us and we can focus on training the house down. Only five weeks to go until 1-4 year players start up. I fully expect Tom Gross to be a mini hulk by then. See you at mineral resources!
Gross flown under the radar a bit, could be a surprise smokey.

It's an easy decision to keep Ryan if the Saints don't offer a F2. Even if they do offer a F2 i'd still think twice before letting him go, he's easily our best small forward and has a couple good years left in him.
We need best 22 players way more than we need future 2nd rounders .

But If ryan could unlock pick 8 sure .

Wce out ryan 22 37
In 8

Stk out pick 8 + f2stk
In flanders Ryan

GC out flanders
In 22 37 f2 stk

Values flanders at pick 10 and ryan at 28

What would we expect for Tyler Brockman? Could it be part of the Tylar Young deal?
Brockman?

Haven’t seen anything about him wanting out or Eagles looking to off load him.

If there is truth to it, depends on if we are happy for him to look around which I doubt

GC needs the points this year though?

It was mentioned, posted in The Age about him possibly wanting to follow Liam Ryan.

Doesn't seem to have any substance at all IMO.

The we worked very hard for pick 16 last trade period makes me feel like he has a genuine desire to make the barrass deal work for us

Honestly, it sounds harsh but I would just delist him if he legitimately would rather be somewhere else - he isn't a guy you would want at the club looking wistfully somewhere else. He can just go.

“Ryan is a contracted player, so we’re happy to keep him. He’s not disgruntled with the club at all. We’re not disgruntled the other way, either."

Like I've said the second this got made official, it's up to the Saints to satisfy West Coast on a deal. West Coast don't have to do a God damn thing and will happily keep Ryan at the club next year.
