2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th

Who will our back pocket be next year? Jimmy was fantastic and quick enough to play on the likes of papley, Charlie Cameron, etc. Hastie would be ideal, shows grit and pace but club don't seem to absolutely love him yet. Stocker is probably too slow to play on the quickest small forwards. Relying on Voss coming in is risky. Have thought tauru is an option, super quick. But would limit his ability to fly as he would have to stay down most times, and may be bad for his development.
Next year might be too soon but I can see O'Connell being very good at that role eventually.

I honestly think Gresh still has something to offer at AFL level, but it's just purely as a forward. Reckon he might need an attitude adjustment as well though, was well and truly sick of him running passed teammates after a mark screaming and clapping his hands for the ball when it was a bad option, he knew it was a bad option, but just wanted to get the ball. Very frustrating player... But obviously has great goal sense and can find the ball around stoppages. Someone plonks him in a Higgins-like role, I can see him kicking 35-40 goals a year.
One thing won't change...he's a selfish footballer

It's even better than you guys made out.

A must watch.
FMD the loosest unit we have had at the club for a while.
Gave Brayden from channel 9 what for regarding players wanting to leave.
That's Gubby in a Monday morning fighting fit after a restful weekend 🤣🤣

Is LOC quick enough? Honestly don't know enough about him, thought he was more a 3rd or 4th tall back rather than a small defender.

Doing a bad achilles injury isn't forgetting how to play footy. Weird take imho.

Been a lot of players along the journey who weren't the same after an achilles injury.
Yea lots of people forgot this. As bad an injury as you can have.

Many never return or return the same.

Demarcus cousins

Kevin Durant the exception.

Tauru likely to go forward...Fincher, Hastie and O'Connell options

You seriously think he is going to change now , No way would they want him back

He did his achilles in 2021. He returned to have his best statistical year in 2022. His last 3 years have been absolute trash.

Suggesting that his achilles was what has caused him to regress in all but his comeback year is an even weirder take IMO.
Untill you realise he lost his speed completely. Jaeger omeara had statistically good years post his knee problems but was never the same.

You think a first year player , that's if we get him can come in straight away and play Websters role , I highly doubt it , if he is that good he must be a top 10 draft pic at the least

Yeah I think he does. He looks to have an excellent athletic profile: speed, agility and endurance. + Brave as they come.
In my mind it’s a question of whether he can learn the positioning, team defence and ability to read ball flight. And potentially whether his skills are solid enough. To the eye they look ok
