David Trotter. Not sure about its validity but I did see someone (can’t remember who) post that Jy instigated this without consulting Trotter, which is a whole other level of stupidity. Should be stripped of the Captaincy for that alone.

Correct. Trotter had nothing to do with this and warned Jy but couldn’t stop his level of gruntle being exposed.

I was told that in response to me going off tap about Trotter leading him down the garden path with this stupid move.

The response was from someone who’d had a lengthy face to face chat with Trotter at an event the night prior. He expressed his frustration, threw his arms in the air and said “but what can you do? He wouldn’t listen.”

So, having read this thread, maybe it’s the constant whiff of tofu on his dinner table that’s seen him lose his mind.

Basically made it clear about all the reasons if a club wants Jy they'll need to pay up to get him.

The club surely would like the contract gone - it was always way, way overs and 4 more years…. Hard to see how those next 4 will be high quality and/or anywhere near market value. Its increasingly looking like an albatross contract - see c oliver.
So, they are happy to have him at club but at the price we are paying, makes huge sense to offload if we can. But, suspect that we are stuck with it. For 4 more years. 4…..

One would assume the message from North is you take jy, you take the entire contract. I would be staggered there'd be no takers for jy at around the 600k mark. Most teams would have a punt on that. Then there would be, if we pay X amount the pick back would want to be prime rib.. he’s just not worth it..
