They are stalling so we trade for starcivich instead.

Lions will not trade for allen unless its starcivich but we could theoretically get starcivich for free after matching allen .

This is the year to make a statement that we won't be pushed over and really disrupt the trade and draft period that will be remembered.

Wait out the free agency period. If they offer band 2 for Oscar match then we force a trade. Brisbane wont offer a reasonable trade? That's cool. We take Oscar back and Brisbane's reputation is smeared to future potential free agency and trade targets.

In response to the above we speak to Starcevich and tell him the contract will be honoured but we can only take you through the PSD considering our draft hand has been weakened by Brisbane's antics. If he doesnt want to do that, that's fine it's his choice. He can't play the 'I want to look after Brisbane' card, given they didn't look after him.

Then we earn the respect of 16 AFL teams and all their supporters by bidding on Anabelle at 1, Uwland at 2 and Patterson at 3 and making these clubs pay the absolute most.

There isn't really a standout #1 pick and these Academy kids are worthy pick 1 contenders that we would be happy to have in our team should they choose not to match.

Clarke would be a God and teams will take us seriously in the future.

What we lose is this draft isn't much and it can be risked. So we should do it.

Was an absolute monster on the dance floor..... and in retrospect I never gave the lyrics enough credit (probably due to certain influences).

Clearly up there with John Lennon's Imagine, the Mac's Landslide and Nirvana's All Apologies.

Even when Darcy was injured they didn't play him next to Jackson.

Clearly the current process was not rigorous enough to prevent a powder puff (sorry, offensive and removed), nancy boy (sorry Mitch, taken down and I will do better), sook (no? maligning OA unfairly and hurts his feelings? Ok, goneski), fierce, determined, passionate, insightful, empathetic and inspiring Oscar becoming captain and the current states of WC, the Bombers, Carlton and Melbourne are pretty categorical evidence that the self validation inmates are starting to run the show to the detriment of the clubs not in contention and the comp overall.

Reminds me of a recent exit interview where part of the feedback was "I didn't receive enough praise".

Showed my age and got a kick from HR, when I noted that the wage was the praise for doing your job adequately.

Do we think Mick would have ever chosen Oscar over Woosha?

Oscar expected a longer contract, so sniffed around for a better one elsewhere.
Same with TB who was verbally promised a contact renegotiation by Nisbett, but Pyke didn't know about it.
I'd say money/financial security is the only real reason why they left.
Anything else is the emotional trauma of being lowballed by the club they love.

Now this is the type of guy we should be having a crack at, perfect age for us, versatile, tough, ready for AFL football with good upside. From QLD so I don’t think he’d care where he moves, would just want game time.

Brisbane are not allowed to demand we trade them more, and in return they guarantee us #2 compo.

If anything the AFL should be issuing a please explain to Brisbane to clarify why lodging FA paperwork is in any way linked to a trade with the club losing the FA.
