Correct.

But they're still amongst the best players in a shite team.
Are there any players outside of your top 100 in which you would pay 1.7 mill, 850k and 1.2 million per season ?
Smart list management, or simply foolish ? I'll let you decide which one it is - just for the record .
Not rhetorical either, any answer will suffice

This guy gets it.

But but but top 8 finishes & semi-finals exits!!
Joking about Semi-Final exits, when Carlton's second best year in the last quarter of a century was a semi final exit.

Meanwhile, Collingwood have played in 12 Preliminary Finals (I.e. the week after) in that time.

Oh my.

I understand why Carlton supporters glaze Richmond....

'If they were as shit as they were for so long, albeit maybe not as shit as we have been, but can eventually manage to win 3 flags in 4 years, there's hope for us yet!'
Maybe in another 30 years.

Teams pick the scabs out of Carlton because they're an easy target.

Smart list management would see your players buying into the program so as not to be vulnerable to offers from the market.

Every half decent player will get offers.

I don't get why people follow a team if they view it as premiership or bust - particularly Carlton fans.
How would you be after every year your team doesn't win the flag, what a waste.

If thats' the way I followed footy, or any sport for that matter I would just give up.

I've said this before and i'll say it again, my favorite year following Collingwood was 2022.

Poor old Carlton supporters must just hate footy by now, no wonder they can't wait for Collingwood to lose, they have nothing else, not even a h/a win, they have no meaning.

2022 was good - 2018 for me. That was one hell of a ride. 2002 also. The flag years were great too.

Do you think Carlton should have matched St Kildas 1.7mill per season , yes or no ? FMD answer the god damn question

Yeah all good years, but I just couldn't believe all those close come from behind wins, then to top it off the come from behind win in the last game, to get us into top 4
, something else happened after that win also, just can't put my finger on it.

You shouldn't have needed to.

TDK should have been in a team primed for a flag tilt, and alternative offers wouldn't have even been on his radar

Do you think Bont got anywhere near his market value when he signed a new contract at the Doggies, for example?

Yeah it was awesome wasn't it - every single week a victorious cliffhanger.

God it must suck to be a Carlton supporter. The ****ers are obsessed with flags - yet can't even win round 1 against an underage team. Couldn't possibly look forward to footy ever.

The only flag Carlton's got anywhere near in recent memory.

Its like you think I care... It was you melting down like Chernobyl about it
But I have called out your lie.

There is no edit thingy if you edit it early enough.

And I don't really care if you think I was melting, you lied and now everyone knows they can't trust a thing you say.

I thought you said Charlie West would have a better career from here than Curnow because Curnow was on the decline?

Sticking with that amongst all your other shit calls?
Could be a different story, but only if Curnow gets to Gold Coast, Geelong or Sydney - teams that have a chance of genuinely contending for the flag before his career is done.

I hadn't factored that into my analysis - I incorrectly assumed he'd be at Carlton for life.

Oh well.
