• Brandon Starcevich arrives at West Coast in a three team deal
• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

Out:

• Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
• Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
• Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41
• Jayden Hunt announces retirement
• Jack Petruccelle, Callum Jamieson and Loch Rawlinson not offered new contracts
• Coen Livingstone joins the list of players not offered a new contract

• Jamie Cripps and Malakai Champion seem to have been offered new contracts despite there being no official announcement. Means that all players out of contract for 2025 have been given new contracts despite or removed from the playing list

Every year teams spend 2nd rounders to upgrade their 1sts by 1 or 2 places. For a reason.

16 plus 23 got us a 4 pick upgrade.

22 landed Starc plus 33 plus 52.

But people cant see why we did it. More like their minds are already made up and complaining is the default response.

It's all relative right. The reigning premieres paid nothing for Oscar Allen and Draper. The wooden spooners paid 22 for Starcevich.

At the end of the day it is what it is, we didn't get fleeced but due to circumstances we walk away paying a fair price for a free agent when other clubs such as the reigning premiers pay nothing

The mega trade really depends on if Starcevich gives us 100 games at his consistent best or if we get a dozen games and a medical retirement.

So given we didn’t get to prelist our academy players, are we thinking 3 natural picks only and the rest to of the picks to match bids? We haven’t got a million normal list spots atm. Thinking 2/13 for 5/6 is pretty likely and suits us.

We also will receive pick 2 for a player worth nowhere near that.

This has to be included in the calculus because its that fact alone which prevented us from getting Starcevich for free ourselves.

Duursma is who clubs will trade up for, doesn't sound like its worth trading up for pick 2.
I know if WCE were holding 5+6 I wouldn't trade it for pick 2, as after Duursma there's probably 5-6 (open pool) players that are of similar quality.
