I think you'll find Ol' Blighty is talking about dodging a bullet with Josh Kelly and our long term offer to him and not Nathan Buckley turning us down.
I'm aware. But my original post (I think) was about the players we've missed on over the years:

Dusty
NBuckley
Kelly
Gaff
Neck
Ben Buckley's kid
Apparently Alex Jezza

Was just adding Nafan as it feels reasonably relevant.

My favourite part about BigFooty is the posters that have clearly demonstrated over a long period of time that they have the temperament of a 4 year old child that's been told it's bed time claiming a) they've figured out what's wrong with the club and b) they know the solution.

The only question I'm left with after reading your constant public tantrums is, who ties your shoe laces in the morning.

It’s daily in some cases

Like every single day

Ironically Jade Gresham is now a strong cultural fit for St Kilda.

They'll leapfrog ahead of us.
Playing the established young talent vs guys like mcdonald, corr and daniel who cant defend.
I have to disagree, the engine room is the most crucial part of any team. If you’ve got a midfield that runs both ways, you’ll win majority of games. The defence always needs support higher up the ground.. without it, they get exposed. Constant pressure inside the defensive 50 will eventually break down any side, no matter how strong their backline is. If the ball keeps coming back in, good luck holding out

We’ve built it the right way, no questions. The only team West Coast might realistically leapfrog is Richmond and that’s about it.

thats because out of the 6, 2 arent ready currently, and 2 are struggling to get on the park... .so you need to have the 2nd 6 or we would be in alot more trouble

People would have said Hardeman wasn't ready, but many injuries gave him the opportunity and he went okay. Dawson is never going to be ready until he gets the opportunity. They are physically good enough to play.

First tier 2025 should have been: Dawson, Logue , Comben, Archer, Goater and Bergman
Second tier developing: Whitlock, Hardeman
Break glass in emergency: Pink

Bergman is out so that elevates Hardeman to the first tier. We have almost no younger second tier and it is a problem.

It was great Hardeman was able to come in for Goater but we had nothing in the tank for everyone else that got hurt. We dont have enough young developing defenders because we have Fisher, McDonald, Corr, Tucker, etc clogging the list and we brought in Daniels who doesn't help imo and we are playing midfielders down back like FOS and McKercher which doesn't help their development to become elite midfielders. If you are skinny and not ready for AFL midfield time you should be in the VFL playing midfield and your priority should be to fix what is preventing you from playing at AFL level, which are physical limitations.

I think the only older defenders that should be on our list are Logue and Pink. Pink out of necessity because we have nobody else on the books that can play FB. We need to put on proper defenders that can defend on the books developing and first tier guys should be the priority to play... they are currently behind older guys that do not give us any stability under the pump so what is the point of them being around? What would help a lot more than semi-useless old defenders is some consistent pressure up the field giving the defenders more of a chance to give a contest.

We just need more room to get some more younger defenders.

We're really not that far ahead of them and that is demonstrated by our last three encounters.

If anyone is still in denial about how were perceived or more importantly, how the people running the club are perceived - this is a reality check.

Wake the **** up and if you haven't, just **** off.
Basketcase.

Can we convince Kinnear to come'ere and be the man that changes this.....

I'm constantly surprised by how seriously people take their own opinions on here. It's a much more fun place to be when we all accept that none of us actually know sh!t about what's going on inside the walls at the footy club, and get back to talking about Dim Sims and wild speculation about the AFL and what a dickhead Damo is. And while we're at it, stop insulting people because our take on the sh!t that we don't know anything about disagrees with theirs.
Speak for yourself big fella!

I do agree overall, but information does get out. People that post here have links to staff at the club - be it players, doctors, physios or execs.
In some cases all 4.

I think the smirk and sideways look he gave when he said North sums up that we just aren't taken seriously.
This is further added on to when a meeting of presidents joked about how stupid you have to be to take the CEO job at North. This was a crack at Brian Cook being considered for our CEO role.

I get we are a small club and we have been in the abyss for a long period of time, but if other clubs list bosses have this perception of us, then it means the wider AFL community just view us as a feeder club or a non competitor.

And unfortunately player managers see us as a payday for their players and for themselves who are otherwise looking at the scrap heap.

In reality none of the above should surprise me or us since the results speak for themselves. Its just shit watching us get repeatedly dunked on.
We're not respected. Simple as that.

On the plus side, the AFL won't kick us out of the comp because the other clubs won't have anyone to use as leverage.

Agree in principle. But I smirk at his "job" at Sydney, with all their leg ups, their theft of other clubs Father Sons etc, they are actually further away than us from AFL Premiership #3.

It's contemptuous that we are so disrespected, but shit, some of our most loyal fans feel exactly the same, so what do you do?

Ya ****ing win. That's all we can do.

The cynic in me asks if the TV deal wasnt signed to have 18 clubs and 9 games on each week - then where would we be.

Outside of the season, North really does need to get creative and campaignery and to find an extra edge to make ourselves relevant.

Its not just posters on here, even Duck said that North exploiting the 10 year rule, paying Sydney $10k for access to Carey and Longmire and then getting Denis back to coach the club with his u19's all still there - its this kind of decision making that helped land all 4 of our flags.

If we just play to the system and the rules in front of us, our destiny won't change.

If we are to embrace the fabric of North and who we are as a club - we need to find ways to set ourselves apart of the other 17 teams, otherwise we just won't ever be able to compete.

If they used us to get a better deal.out of Adelaide they didn't do a very good job of it.
Thats the point. When Port dropped out of the running Sydney tried to get us involved to bump up the Crows offer.
i.e. just not a serious option

This was addressed pages ago - our name is likely to be there because of where we had picks and the attraction for Sydney of introducing some PSD pressure, not because North basket case hurr hurr lol. But go ahead and get mad if you’d rather.

You have somehow moved lower in my opinion. I actually didn't think it possible, but you found a trapdoor.

Starcevic without injury
Ginbey is a decent youngster
Baker lol
Hough (I can't wait for this years 22 under 22 - will he make it?)
you do realise what i said right? players like tucker, daniel, mitch mcgovern, zac williams and so on are all on afl lists, me saying i would prefer them then most defenders in the afl is not a ridiculous statement, maybe watch some wc games next year.
