the membership dept have been on to me, the card i used last year got lost and i had to get another one, iam in no hurray to update.
They are all over the expired Credit Cards.

The club has ignored my multiple email requests since June for community engagement with a local junior footy club, not even a reply to say no.

I called the reception multiple times to follow up and was repeatedly directed to the generic address.

When they called asking for my new credit card details, I mentioned they had ignored multiple email requests from me and they cited lack of resources. I reminded them that the club used to engage volunteer members to cover this sort of thing and there are plenty of willing people to help - of which they scoffed at.

The issue was escalated and I received a follow up email today, quickly referencing my emails, stating the club received a huge number of requests and then SWIFT proceeded to remind me my CC details had expired and I needed to update my details ASAP so I don't miss my first payment ( of which all my current memberships are fully paid and have never opetd to rollover).

I highlighted in my emails that the community engagement is a great exposure opportunity for the club and has potential to entice new support/supporters/members. Didn't give a beep.

Best example ever of SHUTUP and buy a membership.

I love this club more than anything in the world but the current admin is making it harder and harder.

The last “big fish” we landed was Clarko

But he is a European carp. The fight to get him into the boat was epic. But the fun stopped there.

When cooked, he goes soft, leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

I hear he can also survive for an extremely long time in the swampy shallows not doing a whole lot.

I like this analogy. I give myself a pat on the back for it 😊

He's got a lot of work to do but I think his record says he's a bit better than that.

It amuses me how constantly the media fawns over Ross Lyon. Chalk and cheese.

You can't fluke your way to 4 premierships - particularly across two eras.

I have no doubt he was good.

But does he still have it?

AFL changing pick trading rules to benefit the big clubs.
Colour me shocked.

Instead of making totally inappropriate changes like this, they should be changing the rules so that the reigning premiers, Brisbane, cannot bring in a topline player like Allen, without paying some price in terms of the draft. The only impact on them this year is that they move one spot further down the draft order.

West Coast is absolutely entitled to get their assistance in this case because of their ladder positions over the last few years, just as we were with BMac.

But there is no real impact on any club who nabs a player from another club in these circumstances. Brisbane did not have to give up anything. My view is that they should forfeit their first pick in Rounds 1 or 2 in the draft as a minimum, or if they do not have a pick in either of these Rounds this year, they cannot trade out their first Pick in the next year's draft and instead automatically lose that pick.

The strong clubs talent wise will only get stronger if they are not forced to pay in some way in attracting the cream of the struggling clubs talent.

When they brought in Clarko, I had some doubts whether he still “had it”. But I thought at the very least, he would weed out the bad people and bad practices because he knew what a winning club looked like and that he had the clout to do it. And therefore at least get us competitive again.

I haven’t seen that happen.

Instead we have these nuanced almost desperate little moves like brining in fisher to play back, then doubling down with Caleb to play the same roll, and now acquiring Spargo to continue our obsession with bargin basement small forwards. I get a sense he’s trying to fix our problems with pawns and some whimsical game plan.

IMO this is a result of flawed list economy the AFL has built. IMO there needs to be more flexibility with list sizes (allow developing clubs to bring in a stack of extra state level depth, project players, rookies etc) and the cap minimum has to reduce.

Clubs at the top of the ladder are too competitive with their salary offers because of this flawed system. More flexibility will allow clubs at the bottom to out compete financially in a significant way.
