I don't see how it raises it from the already rumoured offer from Sydney. 2025 Pick 11 Vs 19 is a clear advantage to Sydney. 2026 I think you could argue Sydney's pick will likely be better, at worst they'd hold the same value. 2027 Geelong 1st will likely be mid 30s at best due to the Tassie picks. Is that a better asset than a player like Hayward?

Sydney have said Hayward is off the table, so the reality here is that they’re throwing up names like Florent and Green (who are worthless).

This offer trumps that deal by someway, and now they’ll have to re-think their stance on those they’ve taken off table.

What do you think it would take to get Butters? You would think if he is not willing to sign then they have to consider exploring a trade. We should have an open salary cap, we would be a threat at the end of next year so they need to have a look at doing better out of a trade in this one you would imagine.

Devil's advocate - I think IF we did it, we could potentially go to Port with the TDK compo, the Geelong 2026 first, and their choice of either ours or Geelong's 2027 first.

Then match the Dean bid this year with the Geelong first and JSOS compo.

Curnow for Butters, still get Dean, Ison, Chesser, Khamis and then Ainsworth as a salary dump. Retain our 2026 draft hand, retain a first rounder in 2027 (Port to gamble on whether it's our own or Geelong's).

I doubt the Aints have the collateral or cash or willingness to pay the younger sibling what they are paying Sam nevertheless my comment was based on two things: 1. We need a partner for Weitering and 2. In the context of a curnow deal I would entertain DeKoning as a viable part of it- same for the Suns bloke- everyone is in a lather over the smalll forward/mid with some leg speed - but nothing beats a raging bull who can kick goals and is hungry to prove a point - hence jed.- I have liked everything I see in him in watching real games.

In fact the more I think about it - the more keen I am on him.

O’Sullivan is also a KPD (younger).

Would not be spending any decent currency on tall defenders, we have some really good ones coming through with Weitering, O'Farrell and Dean. We only have to get through this season with Young and Haynes. More urgent areas, Leek will cost too much.
