Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Brisbane
Hawthorn
Geelong
Collingwood

All target and land, A-graders each year.

Austin is like the “bin chicken” of trade week, pecking around the c-grade scraps.

We have a heap of cash why aren’t we upping our standards.
Just entertain me and say which of these players (not national or rookie draft) are the A-graders for each club in every year. Worth noting what level they were at when they changed list.

Brisbane
2025: Sam Day
2024: Tom Doedee, Brandon Ryan
2023: Josh Dunkley, Jack Gunston, Conor McKenna

Collingwood
2025: Dan Houston, Tim Membrey, Harry Perryman
2024: Lachie Schultz
2023: Bobby Hill, Oleg Markov, Dan McStay, Tom Mitchell

Geelong
2025: Jack Martin, Bailey Smith
2024: n/a
2023: Jack Bowes, Tanner Bruhn, Ollie Henry

Hawthorn
2025: Josh Battle, Tom Barrass
2024: Massimo D'Ambrosio, Mabior Chol, Jack Ginnivan, Jack Gunston
2023: Karl Amon, Fergus Greene, Lloyd Meek, Cooper Stephens

Brisbane have Dunkley, Gunston was no good in 22 or 23.

Collingwood have Houston who was great in previous years but terrible this season. Schultz was good but not great at Freo, he was bad last year, good this year. Hill terrible this year but great in the previous two. McStay done nothing since coming, Mitchell has been a shadow of himself post hawthorn.

Cats have Smith. Henry had an ok 40+ goal year but disappeared since.

Hawks have Battle & Barrass, feels like Battle has improved but Barrass regressed. Notable improvement since moving to Hawthorn from D'Ambrosio, Chol, Ginnivan, Gunston, Amon, Meek, however none were top-liners when acquired.

Lethal combination is wright and Davies!
Tough, ruthless just what we need right now at the club imo

So far they've been very professional but nothing I've seen so far will mean going into 2026 team with a greatly improved list, in fact it's going backwards. I'm hoping something is in the works beyond what currently seems likely.

Gee I was impressed with how Chris Davies articulated the Geelong offer & why it would not be enough....seems a very good operator.

Meanwhile, Brad Lloyd would be on the radio furiously counting draft picks on his fingers like he was trying to solve a Year 7 maths problem under pressure.

Is there a world where we would take TDK back if saints paid $800k of his contract each year? We would be doing them a favour so maybe they give us their F1 for our F2 as a salary dump.
What The Hell Wtf GIF

From a source close to the player -

Ben Ainsworth will happen today.

Absolutely

And then we have an oliver situation next year.

We think we are in control, but reality is a bit different I think
Oliver & Charlie really can’t be compared.

Oliver’s difficulties off field has a big impact of his value - not forgetting Melbourne is on a whole different level of basket-case.
