IDK if its just giving a shit this time, or the daisy effect, but solid upgrade on the pride kit.
You missed 2024 with rainbow wings - probably better than this years imho

Re AFLM - yeh I don't like it.

I've always seen AFL as the top level, which isn't restricted to Men - if a woman is good enough to play, she could. AFAIK there's no rules preventing it. The M is unneeded. Similar with other sports.

Where as AFLW is restricted to women only

like when randoms mainly in non AFL states say "yeah I play AFL" yeah you play ammo football not the for the actual AFL 🙄
Acknowledging the Men's competition isn't anything remotely similar to confusing the National competition to the sporting code.

At the heart of why certain types are repulsed by the idea of AFLM is because they view the Men's competition as the only legitimate competition, and to whack an "M" on the end of it would delegitimize it - to place it on an equal footing to AFLW.

Well I just dont think we need an M basically.

Add a W when talking about women's otherwise assume its the men competition.

That’s not true at all, the reason people don’t call it “AFLM” isn’t because they think the men’s game is more legitimate, it’s because AFL already refers to the men’s competition by default. It’s the original league that’s existed for over a century. The “W” was added for the women’s league to distinguish it, not to imply inequality, just clarity.

We don’t call the NBA “NBAM” or the NRL “NRLM.” The men’s competition carries the base name because it’s the founding competition, the one that defines the sport’s structure, history, and records. Adding an “M” doesn’t make anything fairer, it just creates unnecessary confusion and linguistic clunkiness. Equality doesn’t require rewriting history or renaming everything for the sake of symmetry.

If anything, “AFL” stands for the sporting body and the professional men’s competition that’s been the flagship for 100+ years, acknowledging that isn’t sexist, it’s just factual.

Last year’s for comparison.

I think on balance I prefer this year’s, but they’re both pretty damn good.
I like this year's more simply because it retains the basic blue and gold design better and will still look very familiar at a distance on field. Too many of the pride jumpers wipe out the basic design of the jumper in the process. Last year's was still relatively good, compared to what other clubs do, but I think the colourful logo is the better option.

If it was just the rainbow Eagle with everything else being the same, I would have picked on up. The rainbow eagle looks awesome.

2026 marks both our 40th season in the league, and the 20th anniversary of the 2006 flag.

Will we get an opening round in the OG peril setup, a la 2011 for our 25th year?

And will we get a game against Sydney in our 2006 guernsey, similar to what we got in 2012 for the 1992 flag's 20th year anniversary?

I'd say a 2006 replica would be the most likely.
