Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

You're confusing me. I read that scenario as a pick before Dean OR an F1. Not both.

I really like Rowbottom.

Long term replacements for Hewett and Cripps who are 30 and 31 respectively at the start of next year. Great tackler and can find the footy when played in the right role.

2 firsts and Rowbottom is a good start.
Need a forward in Hayward coming back as well

Hope we get Ainsworth, good acquisition. Seems a bit of a salary dump situation, so I'm hoping he's fairly cheap from a trade capital perspective

My only concern is Ainsworth is not quite a midfielder, he's not quite an elite forward

(And he doesn't even come with a slice of cantaloupe at the end...)

I can see Cooper Lord becoming a better player than Rowbottom, by the end of next season. With Cripps, Hewitt, Walsh, Cerra, Lord, Ben

Campo already either at close to the top of their games or developing nicely, I just do not see the need for Rowbottom. Lord is also a tackling

machine.

I never get the love for rowbottom. Gets big inside mid minutes and has never averaged 20 touches a game. This year he was 16 per game.

Good tackler but hes essentially a younger way inferior version of Hewett.

And he can't play anywhere other then CBA mid.

Reckon hes overated based on playing for a mostly good Sydney side. I honestly dont think he'd been in our best 22.

Swans have raised Rowbottom, Hayward and pick 11 for Charlie - Sam Edmund

I like Rowbottom, but not really for us.

Would love to involve a team like WCE, where I think he'd be perfect.

EDIT: Apparently the Suns are interested. Great, work him into a deal there...

Yeah, I misread the "or"
What do you think of that scenario?

Personally, I would prefer to trade out of this draft entirely rather than use capital to move up. Move pick 10 to someone's 2026 first. Move 11 to several lower picks for Dean/Ison points. Take Dean/Ison as the centrepieces of our draft and take some later picks on high risk/reward types.

If his gets
Mate, Charlie is the human equivalent of a Labrador puppy.

He could piss all over the carpet, and 20 minutes later he'd be dropping the tennis ball at your feet for a game of fetch and then rolling over for a tummy rub.

He's not smart enough to hold a grudge.
A lot of complete morons can't hold a thought for 20 seconds, but can hold a grudge forever.

I guess we’ll see how highly if at all the internals rate the Campo twins as future wingers or more specifically how confident they are of improving their kicking

Ben Campo is inside mid or bust, I think...

Here is a rumour from left field - Craig McRae to the Blues in 2026. Not sure if he is to replace or support Vossy.

I personally don't believe it, but it came from someone who is highly respected in Australian sport. The bloke has an OAM and a lot of contacts. Not the type I would be expecting to spread BS. He went on to say things are impoding at the Lexus Centre and that Fly and Leppa are at war with each other. This last piece is my favourite part of the rumour!

Yep. And if Dean/Ison slide we just trade out our stock piled 2nd rounders for an extra F2.

I don't mind the idea of adding Rowbottom. Could free up Walsh to a wing and get his running game going again.

30 votes on a wing in his third season of footy. I don't know why we want to persist with Walsh as an onballer so badly.
Really hoping that Walshy can have a great pre-season with no back issues. We have all seen that when he is unhampered, he is elite

midfielder of the highest quality. He could easily have a terrific season next year, win our B and F and finish top five in the Brownlow.

Never forget the impact he had for us in the finals of '23, winning the best player in the finals series. Even though we lost in the pre-lim.

I think he's a good player, but we already have Cooper Lord and Ben Campo waiting in the wings, not really a position of need for us IMO.
