Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

This is a reasonable point. I get the reaction that we don’t need another inside mid but Davies/Wright might be thinking about what the team looks like in 2-3 years. We’re going to have a pretty serious looking midfield after Cripps/Hewett drop off between Walsh, Jagga, Walker, Cerra. Rowbottom might complement them nicely going forward.

So trade for him in 2 years, if we need him.
You can always find these types of players.

I know we keep saying it, but the AFL reallllyyyy cant change the rules now for next year.
Unless they have announced to the clubs and not the public, which is still ridiculous
From what I hear the clubs have the blueprint and are reasonably aware of what the changes will be. It's still pretty **** poor though. Should have been finalised prior to trade week.

More seriously with Ainsworth...I'm happy at the right price, but he's clearly a player who needs motivating.

His best tackle numbers are great. His worst barely register. Best goal assist numbers are solid, worst are poor. Disposal numbers vary wildly (which is in part being a HFF).

I'd expect solid buy in year one, but wouldn't want to see a long term deal.

Davies said only a few days ago that they haven't been told much beyond "there will be changes".

Even if they have been told that its maximum 2 picks to match a bid, the fine print like detail on discounts and whether you can go into deficit still has massive implications.

Greg Swann flagged it on the radio a couple weeks back. No doubt whatsoever that the clubs have been briefed, but told to shut up about it til after trade week so the AFL can release the info when the media cycle needs it.

Here is a rumour from left field - Craig McRae to the Blues in 2026. Not sure if he is to replace or support Vossy.

I personally don't believe it, but it came from someone who is highly respected in Australian sport. The bloke has an OAM and a lot of contacts. Not the type I would be expecting to spread BS. He went on to say things are impoding at the Lexus Centre and that Fly and Leppa are at war with each other. This last piece is my favourite part of the rumour!
No wonder Leppa made a mad dash to Sydney. Wanted to offer Clarry the head coaching role.

I'm not touching this one.

skadoosh?!?

Then why did Davies say they haven't? He was critical of it, so doubt he was lying.

Hopefully we're hiring him to clean the toilets.

Can I just say, true or not, this exactly why the Bluemour thread was created.....absolute gold.

someone had to post it...lol
I'm willing to cop a deleted post if Mods deem it un-Bluemour worthy

Leaving Homer Simpson GIF

Can you share more? Was the offer for head coach or a director of coaching/mentoring role to support Voss?
Not much more to divulge but coaches like McRae don’t move to mentoring 2 years post a flag. Plus, they’ve got about the same experience. Would be a weird mentoring relationship
