Genuine question, would you, or any poster here for that matter, chuck in Shannon Neale to get Curnow? Not on top of three firsts of course, but lets say two firsts.

If Neale can't fix his marking his career will stall really quickly. If Geelong can move him on for Curnow that's a significant upgrade.

I suggested WC buy him off the Cats with one of their high picks.

"Two firsts" from Geelong is really something like two picks in the 20's. The third 1st could be 30+ with Tasmania concessions. It's pure and utter garbage for a contracted Curnow, and throwing Neale into the mix (even on top of all 3 x 1sts) doesn't get it over the line as far as I'm concerned. But maybe I don't rate Neale highly enough. Perhaps I am putting too much weight on his abysmal GF shocker (and other 2 finals were poor as well).

And regardless, Geelong can't just chuck in players against their will. None of them would actually want to go to Carlton.

Rumours were Gold Coast wanted to add six academy players to their list along with Petracca and JUH.

They'll probably clear out eight list spots (plus add Petracca and JUH) pre draft. Two of those would be redrafted as rookies.

The key difference between this and a normal salary dump will probably be the cost. Only time will tell whether I'm right - reckon Ainsworth is worth a second rounder.
