Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

68% disposal efficiency across his career. Kicking efficiency 62%. Fantasy points are also average.
Look at his kick rating not disposal efficiency. +10.0 threat rating and +9.9 retention rating. A much better stat than disposal efficiency which doesn't take into account the kick being taken on. And fantasy points are meaningless when evaluating the quality of an AFL player

I love Durds but could just never put it together consistently with us, if he was ooc he’d probably have been in strife. Thought some of the early goals and pressure back in 22-23 showed a lot of potential, wish him all the best at port
He’s a midfielder first/forward second, just got pigeonholed into a role because he just couldn’t stop getting injured.
I hope Port work this out quickly

Something like either of these you'd think would be our core 23 in either scenario.

Names in bold are additions from 2025.

It's looking more balanced already in my opinion, particularly in that front half.

I don’t have enough background knowledge of Ainsworth to know what his strengths are.

But as long as hes
Tough
Can kick
Likes to get in peoples faces he’ll be better that half the squad.
Tough - not really
Can kick - he's an OK, B grade kick. Better than a lot of ours now but that's not a high standard.
Yes he loves a sledge. He's not really able to back it up, though. His mouth outplays his footy ability by a fair margin.

Agree. Chesser trade was good. Ainsworth was a terrible decision. Next years draft is very good. Can't understand why we would trade away a second rounder which could be low 20s next year.

Probably because it could also be high twenties or even pushing 30+ depending on free agency compensation and ladder position.

Tells me the club genuinely think that moving on a few bad eggs, recalibrating the role players on the list, and resetting the coaching panel a bit will at least maintain the status quo if not improve it.

2-3 free agents next year in the Band 1, 2 or 3 range, a mid table finish of 8th-12th would have our second rounder at Pick 28-31.

I think we know we're going to be all in on Walker, probably chase a free agent ourselves, and it'll likely mean that we don't have as much need for a middling second rounder next year, vs. what having a solid small forward/HFF ready to plug and play provides. If Hayward comes too in a deal for Charlie, I think it further reinforces that we might feel the forward line is really lacking experienced players who can direct play and make smart decisions with ball in hand.

You forgot Butters, Chef. A chef that forgets butter… are you a real chef?

IN - Ben Ainsworth, Campbell Chesser, #67

OUT - F2, Corey Durdin, #41

Phenomenal

Look, I can understand Haywood, averages about 30 goals a year, but, not trying to come across a negative, I just don't see it with Ainsworth. Or Rowbottom for than matter- averages 16 possessions a game this year. Anyway.
