Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Honestly if Rowbottom is included with Sydney 1st this year and next for Curnow
That's nearly as good as we'll get tbh
Rowbottom is way better than Florent
Tackling machine too

Thank god you're not list manager. What a defeatist, weak attitude our club would be were we to simply accept that.
That's no better than the Cats offer overnight. Like we need another slow midfielder such as Rowbottom (who averaged just 16 touches this year). You know you've got an ordinary list when you're celebrating good 'tacklers'.

Time for some Carlton arrogance in this standoff. Pony up with some serious A grade talent, or **** off!

I reckon we're in pretty good hands with Wright at the helm. He's been on these rodeo rides before.

Odds would say Charlie is traded but still think the club might hold him for another 12 months at least...

If Nick and Chris think Rowbottom could be another link player from the midfield to forwardline, great. But not sure about bringing in Hayward + Ainsworth + a type like that.

If its as an inside mid, then he's superfluous. JMc pls.

Goldcoast have been virtually a charity the past 10 years except when it comes to us 😂

I think between Pick 10 and Pick 21, we can cover points for Dean, Ison, plus Buku.

We probably then need to trade a good player this year or next year if we want Cody. Likely Curnow.

22 for Khamis and 33, perhaps?

10 gets Dean, 33 gets Ison. Maybe have a nibble at Gresham or Clarke (NGA's) with our late picks or via the rookie draft pending list spots.

Swans have raised Rowbottom, Hayward and pick 11 for Charlie - Sam Edmund

If they now have offered up players, this is getting done. They've broken the seal on making their guys feel unwanted.

Cal Twomey saying Florent is not interested in coming back to Victoria. Thank God!
Hows that for a 180.

He didn’t want to leave Victoria when he was first drafted… and now he’s not too keen on coming back!

13 possessions average. 1 goal a game. That's poor. How do these stats warrant a second round pick for a 28 year old.?

I don't particularly love what we gave up, but he's a good inclusion and I'm hardly gonna lose sleep over it. Those numbers include 3 games subbed on/off. It's also an incredibly simplistic way to assess a deal, he plays a role that isn't a high possession role. In modern footy, those half forwards are mostly used for guarding space, applying pressure and then capitalising going back the other way. He isn't elite in his role, but he's an upgrade on a few of our guys in the same position. Give him a chance I reckon

I get people are annoyed about the Ainsworth trade, but let’s be honest Durdin isn’t worth much and taking up a lost spot & with Ainsworth coming in you wouldn’t be seeing him anyway.

Is it overs yes. But I think we evaluate at the end of the trade period, maybe we over paid there, but we probably under paid for Chesser & the Reid’s trade was just a couple of slides & almost free.

Evaluate trade period as a whole not just individual trades, especially these days how picks fly around constantly, we may need part of this to unlock something else

Durdin was a good will move to free up a list spot - beats paying him out
Yep, Durdin hasn't delivered like I thought he would...I have to be careful because Aphrodite has banned me twice for player bashing....
Am I allowed to say this...who the f knows anymore!!!!!

Tagger and absolute terrier at stoppages.

I'm comfortable going in with Harry, Hudson, Kemp and Buku as our taller options. Hell, Liam Reidy takes marks and kicks goals for that matter.

Stop being so rational it's ruining the vibe.

Isn't that exactly what Cooper Lord did in the last three games of the season?

It's not enough of a sample size for me. Rowbottom is proven in that regard.

And in 2022 playing a more prominent role up the ground he averaged

16.0 disposals
1.1 goals
1.1 goal asissts
2.8 shots on goal
6.7 score involvements

Is that 'poor' ?

Future second round pick for Ainsworth? Madness.
Durdin averages 7.78 disposals a game, 48 goals from 64 games and he is literally a small forward only. Ainsworth is a high half forward type, who averages 15.1 possessions a game. in the last 4 seasons he has kicked 85 goals from 82 matches, Durds has got more than 15 touches in a game once in his entire career.

McInerney has to be involved in the Charlie trade surely..

Him on one wing and Chesser on the other and we have far better ball movement and kicking skill on our wings to improve delivery into our forward 50.

Rowbottom is a nice player but he's not a need. Prefer McInerney, Hayward, Campbell as options over him for what we need to improve the balance of our list.

Seems an upgrade on all our current small forwards?
