Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

FYI - word is the rowy is going to GC not the blues.

SYDNEY:
Gain - Curnow & #36
Lose - 25' Rd.1 (#10), 26' Rd.1, Will Hayward & James Rowbottom.

GOLD COAST
Gain - Sydney's Rd.1 (#10), Carlton's Rd.1 (#9) & James Rowbottom
Lose - Jed Walter, #15 & #36

CARLTON:
Gain: Jed Walter, Will Hayward, #15 & Sydney's 26' Rd.1
Lose: Charlie Curnow & #9

Who is unhappy?

(I know Jed wouldn't be knowing he's been left out of the Suns Finals side only for them to bring in an unhinged Jamarra as another key forward he's going to have compete with)

From Rookieme

POSITION: Balanced Midfielder/Defender

SNAPSHOT: "A speedy and productive mover on the outside, Chesser breaks the lines from half-back or the wing but has also shown a good balance in his ball winning."

STRENGTHS:
  • Speed
  • Kicking
  • Class
  • Versatility
  • Outside run
  • Breaking the lines

IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Contested game
  • Tackling

Also mentions he has footy nous.

Ticks the boxes that we need to improve on.
He was highly touted on BackChat by Will Schofield who is notoriously pessimistic on his Eagles

I think he'll be a very good pickup

Sydney wont do that.

We've got Ainsworth, what are the chances Will Hayward gets to us as well? Small forward problem? What small forward problem...

Ainsworth, Hayward, Kemp, Moir, McKay maybe Curnow. It's a forward line that has pace, goal kicking power and tremendous overhead ability. Teams would not simply be able to crowd Curnow and/or McKay they would have to watch all of them. Even Chesser resting forward has the same traits.

That is a totally different forward line and that fixes our issues with lack of pace, congestion and poor ball movement.

It's a reasonably fair deal but I dont think GC wants to lose Walters for anything.

Hayward won't come if Curnow stays.

Tidy work on Ainsworth and Chesser
Don't get the overpaid for Ainsworth stuff. Firstly he's a former pick 4 who gets picked every week and will make us significantly better in an area of need. Secondly how can anyone know if we overpaid till we know where we finish next year. If we finish last and its a low 20's pick and he doesn't contribute much then yes. If we win the flag and it's a pick in the low 40's abd Ainsworth wins the Norm Smith then it's the steal of the century.

I was wondering earlier if we keep dealing with the Cats, if it starts with us asking for Miers, they offer Close and we settle for Mannagh … Miers obvs on another level but Mannagh is a really damaging player too and very similar mould. I’m a huge fan of them both and both are very underrated.

Just feel they need to try and turn two of their firsts into one better pick for us to entertain it. If it ended being picks ~ 20, 10-12 and Mannagh, I would take that over the Swans’ offer bc Mannagh is a gun.

The issue by trading a future second now is clubs now know that we need Charlie gone in order to get Walker. Not the best or smartest strategy.
I think we always needed another F1 for Walker whether new or old rules.

If proposed changes come in that F2 would have had virtually nil impact on our ability to match. If rules remain the same could have contributed but still need another late F1 at least.

You should pigeon this scenario to Austin ASAP
