Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Our forward line this year was a disaster.

This setup is a bit closer to what good modern sides are rolling out.

But lacks class. Needs a difference maker.

Turning Corey Durdin into Ben Ainsworth is the greatest thing ive ever seen. All respect to Durds PORT HAVE BEEN ROBBED.

I am not even sure how Port have been robbed when it was a three team trade where Port have traded away Pick 29 in this crap draft (and 67 which won’t be used at all) for Durdin and a F2 (in next years very good draft).

If anyone got “robbed” it’s GC. They get Pick 29 for Ainsworth.

It'll be interesting how we fit him in. Bit underwhelmed by what I saw of him as a forward over preseason (very limited). If we have decent natural forwards I wouldn't be desperate to squeeze him in.

Also, depends how physically ready he is to be a mid. If he plays forward he'll push very high up the ground.

The issue by trading a future second now is clubs now know that we need Charlie gone in order to get Walker. Not the best or smartest strategy.

Geelong already offered us multiple firsts, the deficit would be minimal. Also, you underestimate how much the Swans want Curnow and that we are content to keep him. I don't think the issue has ever been finding the points for Walker but the quality of the players offered

Just pointing out the potential differences of a F2 to the "we overpaid" gang.

Having said that I firmly believe that we'll play finals next year. I reckon that are clearing out a bit of dead wood (not necessarily in terms of ability but more in terms if commitment to the cause) and replacing them with blokes who either fill a need or want the chance to be regular senior footballers plus some classy kids.

The Curnow trade might determine just how far we can go.
