Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Without involving any other club if they try to make this work, one possible option - 16+F3 = Ah Chee+44/45+51
We'll use the 16 for points (+700 roughly). Adelaide get 2 x 3rds this year. Once Lions, Gold Coast and Carlton burn through our picks via bid match - that 45 will be in 30s(~35 roughly) and 51 will be early 40s (end of second round possibly).
That'll end up being 2 seconds so potentially you haven't lost much in overall value. Draft will bring your hand forward from 3rd round. We get points to cover Annable all the way to pick 1 even (I think).
It's never irrelevant when you had Swans over a barrel with your bottom ladder status. You have form here. Now you're going in circles lol. What is considered 'fair value' and 'overpaid' is subjective and irrelevant. Back up your claims or bugger off mate.
Think you need to calm down mate. You’re the one showing arrogance in this thread. It's never irrelevant when you had Swans over a barrel with your bottom ladder status. You have form here.
We have been trading fine with multiple clubs - you have a sudden ladder spurt and find yourself negotiating like a bottom club but holding a minor premier title.
Go away mate - no Ah Chee for you this trade period. Bunch of numpties.

Arrogance? Jeez your supporters harping on about F2 and calling how average our player is and you expect me to just go "yep wonderful, please let me more".Think you need to calm down mate. You’re the one showing arrogance in this thread.
You’ve traded with one club. The others were free agents, hardly a need to haggle over.
Ten posts later, and you’re still spewing irrelevancies that have nothing to do with my original question: ‘surely you can provide some examples of it actually happening?’ All I’m seeing is deflect after deflect. It's never irrelevant when you had Swans over a barrel with your bottom ladder status. No soup for you lol. Turn out GWS was right about Hately, they didn't even wanted a 3rd rounder for him lol. It's never irrelevant when you had Swans over a barrel with your bottom ladder status. You have form here.

We wouldnt expect pick 16 for an out of contract Ben Keays or Wayne Milera, two players who are around the same mark in quality and are the same age.Arrogance? Starcevich is a better player and younger.I'm assuming Adelaide/Brisbane have a contract offer on the table for Ah Chee similar to what West Coast offered Starcevich given the trade expectations are similar...
Ah Chee re-signed for two years in 2023. That's not a huge show of faith. Anyone with at least one and a half eyes open should recognise that he's a good player, but is objectively in the bottom half of Brisbane's 23 (which is a very good 23, he's not some battler lucky to hold a spot) and in terms of list management priorities probably wouldn't crack the top 20. You can't pay everyone (unless you are Geelong) and you can't keep everyone, hence he has explored his options.
Are the Lions offering big money? Long term security? Seems a bit rich to be asking for a pick in the teens if not.

Nice try Slim, but don't pretend to know what the contract is worth.Compensated for not paying him his worth? An average AFL contract of 5 years at $650-700k?
What would that get you in FA compensation?
Probably a late second rounder.

He’s not a contracted player either, so there we remain in the stalemateNice try Slim, but don't pretend to know what the contract is worth.
You are probably right on the FA compensation, but he is not a free agent, so that is not relevant.![]()
Yep.And a free agent joining the spooner. The only reason he went for ~pick 20 is WC being inept and Oscar Allen considerations.
Ah Chee has a comparable trade value to Liam Ryan. Brisbane fans won't accept that but it's reality.
If he's a defensive forward he's worse at it that Keays.

Less goals, less tackles, less disposals

Ah Chee has never kicked 30. The last 2 years are the only times he's even passed 20 goals.I’ve never paid attention to this but I didn’t realise Liam Ryan has never kicked more than 30 goals before and that was in 2019. Crazy.
Cal is comfortably a better player and has much more left in him career wise than Ryan does.

If anything but a first won’t get it done, then it simply doesn’t get done.Justin Reid has said it won’t involve a first round pick too many times for it not to involve a first round pick. Murphy’s Law. You don’t identify a player, woo them, offer them 5 years and then not get it done. West Coast licking their lips in the distance if it doesn’t get done or he re-signs.
Trust me bro, if you had Ah Chee in your side, you win the qualifying final against Collingwood and go straight into a prelim. Pick 16 is a small price to pay for a player who makes you better. Actually, let me put it another way. By letting you have him, we’re making you better.Ah back to lockdown utility role. Even Ryan was better defensively also.
The only reason you think he's worth a first rounder is trust me bro vibes.
With how badly the team played, a bloke that gets 13 disposals and nearly a goal a game isn't making up that difference.Trust me bro, if you had Ah Chee in your side, you win the qualifying final against Collingwood and go straight into a prelim.
