I don’t doubt Richmond rate CDT highly. But I can guarantee you any information coming out about how much we rate him is to push Essendon into giving up a future first round pick (which I am sure they wont want too).

I can see the sense for eagles to be trading down out of pick 2. CDT doesn’t fill their most glaring concern.

Still don’t think we’l have pick 2 come draft night, will belong to the Bombers or you guys. GCS and Dees an outside chance.

We have heard this before with the Eagles. Telling everyone picks are up for grabs, but let's face it, only a king's ransom will see eagles part with 1 or 2, and I can't see that happening. So Eagles imo will head to the draft with picks 1 and 2.

Same with us, we ain't splitting anything unless it seriously favours us.

I can see them trading with Essendon. 2 and for 5 and whatever early pick they get for Merrett, with probably something small going back Eagles way.

110% this would be the case.

RFC know exactly what they’re doing and it’s very convenient any internal leaks are meant to spread the narrative of it all.

If you bring your politics into a football forum (of all places), don't cry like a baby and try and report it to a moderator if someone references it in a reply that you might not like. Yes he is entitled to his free speech in displaying it, but he is not entitled to silencing everyone else's free speech in reacting to it. It cuts both ways.
Did he mention anything about it what politics did he bring don't know we're your going with this make no sense
All he's talk was relevant to the topic the draft that's the 👉 , he drifted the other way.

Nope! Hawks dont have enough collateral to get the Merrett deal done, they only have picks 9, 31, 43, 62, 76
I doubt this deal goes through, unless of course, bombers get two first-rounders within the top 10

Hawthorn will be close to the top 4 next year, so a future firsts won't cut it, just like the Cats' first rounder this year and two future firsts for Curnow were laughed at by the Blues. Those picks are likely to be around pick 20 and more in 2027 due to Tassie.

Hawks trade 9 and 2 players or 9, F1, and a player and it'll get done.

Those names are not going to cut the mustard. Merrett is seen as their Rolls-Royce. He is contracted. It needs to be a doozy of a deal, or it won't go through.

CDT is a gun, the potential he has is too good, and the risk is offset by having a pick straight after. Giesch reiterated that there’s 2 with superstar potential (being Duurs and CDT)
But does he mean those two? Maybe we rate them differently?

If I'm Essendon and of rational mind - mutually exclusive concepts for the most part - I'm taking either of those deals in a heartbeat.

They ain't winning nothing in the next 3-4 years while Merrett's still on the scene, but can fast-track their rebuild right now.

Yes, there's an emotional element when the skipper's involved (except if you're West Coast of course 🤣), but they just need to cash in while he's got currency.

If they seriously won't listen to those reasonable offers simply because it's Hawthorn, then they deserve to remain stuck in the flag-less shit for another 25 years.

I think you have to play him as a ruck to get the maximum return. Concede some Taps and hope he nullifies before getting to work at ground level. Kind of like a big Grigg. And hope other parts of his game develop.
Haven’t really watched him but it sounds like a Marshall type. Not that effective in the hitouts, but a good tank, good in the contest with lots tackles, quick get-it-forward possessions and a real threat forward.

Obviously CDT is more athletic - not lumbering, but maybe they are as effective as each other.

Was quite surprised at how easily Xerri dealt with Rowan physically last year (preseason I think) I thought he was stronger than that, but he still continued racking up the possessions and tackles.
