where is your top 10 pick this year and player? You don't have one so stop wasting everyone's time with nonsense.

I said if you think we are dropping off a cliff then the pick we give you will be top 10 next year. Are you hard of hearing or something?

You might want to tell Charlie that then.
But that has nothing to do with you whining about our supposedly low offer.
If you dont want to trade him then what our offer is is irrelevant.
And if you do want to trade him then you approach the managers of our players and you turn their head to be involved. We are not doing it for you because clubs with a good culture don't do that.
As I said. I am not sure why you cannot understand the obvious.

"if you dont want to trade him then our offer is irrelevant".... if thats what you said it has only taken you 1289 posts to understand it.

Which part of Charlie is not for sale do these provincials not understand? why would the Blues approach player managers in exchange for a player that is not up for sale?

Seriously - the education system at Geelong must be seriously substandard to the point a royal commission must be enacted.
If he isn't up for trade then why are you whinging about the quality of picks Geelong has

It's culture. Good clubs dont force key players out against their will because it upsets culture too much and that is worth more than individual trades.
If Carlton would prefer not to keep curnow they are more than allowed to talk to the manager of any of our players amd see if they can entice them. But we are not going to force people out.
We have offered everything we can short of that-its fine.

Hang on I get that you guys just made a GF, but I wouldn’t say your clubs culture is beyond reproach
Bailey Smith has been acting like a fwit all year and your club has pretty much just let him have at it
The way he treated that lady photographer was crack head like behavior and he did that in the middle of your football club and no one held him to account
One of your senior players or coaches should have dragged him by mullet out to personally apologize to that woman and the club let him get away with sending her a text message, that’s not good culture.
The Mad Monday stuff was kinda woke bullshit, but the leaders at your club must of known it wasn’t gonna play well with the public, but no one lifted a finger to stop it.
But now Mackie wants to claim we can’t offer up a fair deal because our strong club culture won’t allow it

I can’t understand how Geelong supporters are being so bone headed about this trade.
You’re trying to lure one the best key forwards in the league to your club, who happens to be contracted for another 4 years.
Over the last 4 years his of his career his finished 3rd in the Coleman last year and won the award back to back the two years prior to that, he’s 28yo and entering his prime.
Make no mistake you’re trying to land one of the biggest stars in the game and your trying to tell us Max Holmes and Bailey Smith are off limits.
What’s Bailey Smith ever done, besides act like an absolute arseh*le to people, the way he treated that camera lady was disgraceful, then to apologize by text message shows exactly how low class this bloke is.
Not only are there so called A graders off limits but no B graders are to be considered either
The best they could come up with is a mutton dressed as lamb so called 3 first round picks
Pick 19 this year which end ups at about pick 25
Pick 15-20 next year and a pick in 2027 that will be lucky to land before pick 30.
Mackie came out all chest puffed out saying this is the first time any club has offered 3 1st round picks in a trade for one player and we think its a fair deal and it’s the best that we can do, he actually said all this with a straight face.
Mackie has done no such thing. He said before trade period started that Carlton would set the market.
We've made an offer, it isn't enough. And we're not actively going to ask someone to leave, they'd have to approach the club.

I applaud that stance. You don't become a destination club by turfing guys out, or to the chagrin of Jack Higgins, by offering A grade money to B/C grade talent.

So what if it is the best we can do? We haven't pursued Curnow, he wants out and wants us, it's just unfortunate it is in a year where the trade assets available relative to the contract length left are inadequate.

I have NFI why so many Carlton fans have an issue with Mackie. He's doing what's best for his club just as Austin is yours, and in this instance there's a sizeable gap to an agreeable solution.

Question for Carlton fans. In our shoes would you be wanting a best 22 player to be tapped on the shoulder for CC while we have two competent KPF already? To answer the reverse question. In your shoes I don't expect you to accept the offer we've put forward. But we had to offer something otherwise it may deter others in future years from choosing us if we make no effort at all.

The reality is that the Curnow camp have ill thought out this off season, and who knows why, maybe something in 2025 has triggered a desire to get out now. But we don't have the ability to do the deal, and we don't actively pursue many in-contract players. Pert tried to gift wrap Oliver last year, and now Curnow and Marshall have sought us out.

"if you dont want to trade him then our offer is irrelevant".... if thats what you said it has only taken you 1289 posts to understand it.

I've been saying that for ages.
But you keep banging on about lowball offers. There are no lowball offers or overs offers or anything else if you aren't trading him so what you are whingeing about is irrelevant. Im not sure why you are taking so long to understand this.

You think a player can't build a bridge and get over it?

I recall Tim Kelly playing fairly well at the Cats after he was forced to stay before being traded to WCE.
He was a 24 year old with 1 year of AFL experience. Waiting a year wasn't great, but it still meant he was assured of going home at 25.

Curnow has had a decade at the Blues and is clearly over the place. He might have a couple of elite seasons left. It's a different story at that age compared to if he was 23 or 24.

Bryce Gibbs wasn't able to come back and perform for the Blues after his trade request?

Carlton demanding "players" if no Geelong player is particularly keen on going to the Blues....

Why would you guys even want a player who has to get forced to go to you against his will? I'm sure they'll be super motivated to play for you in 2026.
Is this the first time a team has demanded a player be included in a trade or something?

Cats aren't willing to pony up for Charlie, it's over... Move on.

Must be tough for the cat fans. Humiliated on the biggest stage and no real scope for improvement. It's a bleak outlook for them if they don't get Charlie or another quality player through the door.

Are we being bone headed? Vast majority just having a laugh because we know we don't have the assets to trade for Curnow

Is a symptom of having a list where almost everyone is a role player who knows if they move teams they'll get a different role and they won't look as good

Once again - not yet answered properly by Carlton fans - if our future is so bleak then what's wrong with accepting our F1 in 2026 and 2027.

They'll be awesome top 10 picks if Blues fans actually believe what they're saying.

Literally one fan said that on here.

Nobody with a brain who's not trolling thinks Geelong with Charlie Curnow added to the mix is going to suck over the next few years.

Still think the best play here is, Sydney throw something big at Connor O'Sullivan and get a few clubs involved in the trade.

Offer up Florent (Carlton), Rowbottom and Buller (Pies), plus put our 2025 and 2027 firsts into the pot. Get O'Sullivan and enough points for our academy kids this year and maybe a late future back - happy to death ride any of the 3. Anyway, I feel like there is enough value there to make it viable.

Geelong should then have ample picks, along with theirs for Curnow and Marshall. Ours likely to be more valuable.

I sincerely hope we're not even considering giving up a guy who's holding down KPD at age 20 in his second season, for a bloke 10 years older that's not a position of desperate need.
