Take it with a grain of salt but a couple of rumours from different people popped up this morning on our board that Bailey Humphrey is still gettable this week. The story seems to point to you guys not being able to trade for Petracca and get all your academy picks as well.

I assume that to mean Melbourne want picks 7 & 8 for Petracca, leaving you guys unable to get you academy guys. With a likely scenario that Carlton would trade the Suns pick 10 from Sydney for Curnow and our TDK compo for Bailey to enable you guys to get your academy guys.

I don’t doubt that Bailey and his management will agitate for a trade till the deadline. But plenty of people have shown scenarios of how we can spend 7,8 and still get our academy picks.

Admittedly I’m a Melbourne supporter and want Bailey Humphrey.

However, with all the latest developments, why don’t you just straight out trade him to Melbourne for Trac?

1) you get an immature young man off the books that clearly wants to go home.

2) you retain your picks 7 and 8.

3) you get a champion player in Trac without impacting your draft capital.

4) you trade BH to a bottom 4 club in Melbourne who won’t hurt you on field next year in the regular season and finals. I can assure you that GC will beat Melbourne next year with BH in a Melbourne jumper, and I can assure you neither sides will have a finals matchup with each other.

The only push back I see is that Craig Cameron was adamant that he won’t trade BH and he and the club may lose credibility if they go back on their word.

We already have draft capital to get Petracca, 2 top picks plus another 3 academy kids.

It will give us time to prepare and trade Humphrey properly next year for a top player, good picks. Meanwhile we will help him to grow up and he will help us to win it all, haha.

Yes, Humphrey did meet King but not sure he would go there. It has Mitchell, Hawks written all over it.

Any bid over 40 is really nothing regarding points. New DVI ends at 54. Coulson and Murray are projected 40+.

I am consistently hearing he’s been linked to Hawks for some months and is sold on getting to the club..I wonder if you’ve been speaking with Cam MacKenzie. Hawks would hate to lose him, pick 7 and could be a star, but a future first, along with picks for your academy kids this year and MacKenzie might be a fair swap for Humphrey.. Just interested to know what the feel is for the player.. I live in QLD so have some interest so have a soft spot for the Suns..

It’s tough because for the right price I don’t mind moving him on this year if he’s set on leaving, but the way he’s acted has been pretty pisspoor and I don’t like rewarding that behaviour. I do know that we did have great interest in McKenzie in his draft year and it was between Humphrey, McKenzie, Clarke and Ginbey for who we took with pick 6. I just don’t think we need Cam all that much, Would rather develop lombard into that game breaking mid-fwd and use Humphrey as a tool to get a Weddle type/ Someone to replace Sam Collins

Hawthorn don't have the picks to get Humphrey.

Mckenzie has been trade bait for Merrett, so he's clearly not needed at Hawthorn and is in no way a "fair swap" for Humphrey.

And FWIW, It’s almost a bit Naive to think that Hawthorn have the capital to land Humphrey and Merrett. That’s going to cost you atleast 5 1st rounders, Neither team will accept a 2027 first from you guys either because it’ll balloon out to a pick in the mid 20s

Long story short: It’d be an incredible effort if Hawthorn somehow landed Merrett and Humphrey

I think opposition teams forget we have Budarick and Fiorini to trade which will generate points plus we won’t flat out lose picks 7 and 8 for Petracca something will come back.

Then we have time to sort out live pick swaps on the night for points.

This is how trade period will play out… Suns will trade Fiorini before Wednesday and then Budarick/Ugle Hagan swap and Petracca trade happens on Wednesday night for the viewers.

Also opposition supporters, you realise the suns have 2 years of future picks to acquire points if we need to… we have the same ability as every other team to trade futures to make it work.

Yeah, that points argument is really ridiculous from opposition fans.

I will not go into it again just in summary, yes, Fiorini looks like pick 30 - 454 extra points, we get something for Budarick probably too. Just yesterday, again reported 4 teams interested in our first round picks which would bring us extra points. Deal with Eagles would mean probably extra 25-300 points and no bid 1,2. Fiorini deal probably no bids 5,6. Yes, we can use future picks to trade in this year. We can go to deficit.

It's really boring from opposition fans. Just do a bit of homework.
