Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

I think the fact we got Fraser back to focus on forward structure and connection is making a lot of sense.
If the trade to Sydney goes through then our forward structure will be completely different and suddenly, unpredictable.
Harry at CHF, Ainsworth, Williams, Evans, Motlop and a fully fit Kemp could be a blessing in disguise if the club comes up with the right plan.
We should be able to create mismatches for pace and make up for a lack of key forward targets with numbers at the contest.
It would be nice to see GC get involved in a 3 way trade but I can't see Humphrey coming unless he demands a trade specifically to us.
It would certainly ease the pressure on Sydney and our forward line would give teams a headache or three.
I highly doubt that GC would give up Ainsworth and Humphrey in the same trade period though.
Exciting few days coming up though.
With a fully fit Walsh and Cerra, some good foot skills added with Chesser and maybe a few surprises yet to come I really don't think we should be writing off 2026.

Any word on our targets with the trade package Sydney will offer?

Would be very happy with Robey/Duursma in the draft or a Humphrey type trade target.

No sorry. I have just had consistent message that Swans will do nearly anything to get Charlie and are clear what we want and will agree to.

So there going to give us what we’ve asked for soap?

I assume so or it’s no deal. Two weeks ago I thought it was 50/50 that Charlie would go. Now I reckon it’s 70/30 he goes. Purely because Sydney want him badly and haven’t baulked yet. Just a case of can they make it happen?

If this is true and the Swans want to get him to do a tour in the coming days they must have some confidence they can get a deal done for him.

"Touring the facilities" is just the excuse they'll use to make sure he's conveniently on site for the photo opp in his new colours 15 mins after the trade is officially announced. Definitely says to me that terms have been borderline agreed to over the weekend.

Surely something would be leaked by now

Respected ITK on Geelong's board, Jumping Jack, thinks Charlie will be a good influence on Bailey Smith down at the cattery in 2026 and get him on the straight and narrow and settle him down. :thumbsu: Looks like Charles is off to work a miracle on king flog Bailey Smith :)
Speaking of which, a little shout out for Blue_Fusion who took one for the team. He headed over to that cesspit and threw some loaded hand grenades into the entitled mob that ended up earning him a day off.

I salute you good sir. You now get my nomination for Poster of the Year 🍺

Its strange that nothing seems to be leaking. It'd be nice if Sydney could rustle up a key position defender from somewhere to pair with Weitering in this deal. :thumbsu: We need that more than a Bailey Humphrey IMO who appears to be almost no chance of happening

Humphrey surely is the player to break the whole situation wide open. As unlikely as it is, one can hope.
Imo Humphrey would only be a chance if Hayward isn't involved. Buller + Rowbottom be shipped off and the added pick from them to be used to get Humphrey across or something similar.

That number doesn't really fill me with confidence Sydney can get it done. According to a post re Florents grandmother who has loose lips, saying Oliver agreed to terms with Carlton, Sydney's players aren't jumping up and down to leave, especially Papley and Rowbottom.

Are Geelong still in this race?

Can’t be an easy deal to do. Especially when players are involved that a week ago weren’t contemplating going anywhere. Key will be the Managers and Charlies team who is driving everything

As for Cats I can’t see how but I keep thinking they will pull something

Interesting few days ahead

He clearly desperately wants to stay. Lets just hope the Blues and him can come to some sort of arrangement to keep him 1 more year.

Seems a good kid who's lost his way, not like he's Bailey Smith who's a genuine pos.
He could start by shaving the dirty bumfluff off his face lol

If the Florent part gives us a second rounder to shore up our points issue for dean and Ison and sending off 10 and 11 gets us Humphrey, would we prefer Rowbottom or Pies F1? Maybe convincing Rowbottom is the stumbling block.

I actually dont see Florent being in our best 23 he's a horrible defender and dosnt man up he will get completely found out at carlton

Wonder if there are any players that Sydney would let go, but who might prefer to stay in NSW.

11 + F1 + Hayward + Aleer...
