Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Cant help reflecting on Nathan Buckley,s comments mid season this year, that Carlton have too many entitled players that compromise our team.

Then he named them: Curnow, Gov, Acres, Saad.

We will all see if this move was required or the latest symptom of poor management.

They're also not going to trade Humphrey to ensure they have points for a bid match in the 20s. Would be like us having points for Dean and then trading out Walsh to make sure we don't miss out on Ison.

More economical for them to just wait for the bid on Addinsall, see what the shortfall is, and then trade a future second or third for an extra pick this year to make up the points.

I think like Charlie if he is really kicking up a stink they would move him on for a winning deal, but 10 and a four pick upgrade is not a winning deal.

They would get a better offer than that in 12 months time. 10+11 is close and something I think Carlton and GC would consider if push came to shove.

Ison is neither here nor there for mine. If a bid comes too early I would almost let him go but I know that’s not how clubs work. Need to keep our academy kids happy they are few and far between.

I reckon we’re receiving more than 2 firsts + Hayward + Florent.

Three reasons:
1. it was said from the start that we need to be seen to clearly win the deal to appease fans after losing TDK
2. There must have been a reason why Rowbottom was being pushed out. There’s also the rumours around Logan McDonald leaving to WCE
3. The Swans were supposedly trying to broker trades get players from other clubs to Carlton as part of the weekends negotiations

I hope they aren't making decisions based on appeasing fans. I'm not sure why they'd need to do so in relation to TDK. There was nothing the club could do to keep him.

I think that we should get more than what's been proposed for Charlie, too, but it doesn't look like the Swans are going to come to the party. We either accept this or retain Charlie is how I see our options.

IMO… Suns will stick to their word and Humphrey & Walter are no chance of being traded.

Swans look like pulling the old sales trick of coming to us last minute, with a deal that’s probably just a little better than Geelong. Trying to force our hand, hoping we’ll be desperate for a F1 pick.

Hayward is a solid player, who I’d like to be at Carlton. But he’s a long way from the A-Graders we said we wanted at the start.

Unless one of: Pick 2, Humphrey, Walter, Butters or some A-Grader out of the woodwork is part of the deal, I’d keep Curnow to his contract.

I know some on here wanted (and still want) the world in return for Charlie, but that simply was never ever a reality.

To potentially end up with two first round picks, a player in Hayward who absolutely is a first round pick and Florent who at his best is at worst a second rounder.

Factor in that we almost guarantee getting Cody now, and have picks to play around with and I'd say I absolutely tip my hat to Austin and Co.

This was not an easy situation at all to deal with, but if that's the deal that lands, then they've done very well.

Addition by subtraction is a powerful thing.

I think the opposite. Swans are shopping around multiple players. Hayward, Rowbottom and Florent entrenched in the culture, McDonald one of their best young players. They have to get the deal done now or the place stinks next year.

The two firsts and two players is mostly fair and I think we can push for an upgrade of points as well with some later swaps.
