Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

GWS matched the bid... so Geelong had to stump up... I've been through this so many times, had Geelong not satisfied GWS, Cameron would have stayed because there was no chance he was going to enter the draft...
They matched the bid, but Cameron would’ve still had to sign the contract. They had no competition outside of the cats, so they had to settle for whatever they offered him

to all the miserable souls out there complaining that we are getting unders for Charlie, have a look at the Jeremy Cameron trade.

Geelong gave up picks 13, 15, 20 and GOT BACK 2 second round picks.

Fresh off a Coleman and the clubs 9 time leading goal kicker. Much younger than Charlie as well.

Imo if we get hayward and 2 picks for him thats an absolute win and more than any club has ever gotten from a player.
Massive difference mate Cameron was a free agent

Can't help but feel Charlie's tour of the Sydney facilities was a set up by his manager yesterday, in a desperate last plea to Geelong to make a reasonable offer. Sydney media conveniently there at the right time and he parked so far from the entrance just so he could entertain a couple of questions on the walk up and look 'excited' to tour the swannies' facilities

What Geelong's last offer will be is anyone's guess but as much as I'd love O'Sullivan in the navy blue (like I did in his draft year) I'm not even sure 2 Geelong firsts and him would beat out the speculated Sydney package (2 earlier firsts, Hayward and Florent or F2).

Important next two days for the direction and future of the club. I still don't think Sydney is even a feasible option for some reason and its all a play by Charlie and his management to get to Geelong
They are taking steps beyond the petracca method last year, let hope it isn't the same outcome.

The Petracca method wasn't orchestrated by his manager. That was all Trac.

I dont think Geelong will stump up more, because I just dont think they want or need Curnow that much, unlike Sydney.

Really?

I can’t see it.

So much talk around the deal swans are offering will only put pressure on Geelong to pony up.

Only we know Geelong don’t have any pony’s to offer…

It’s Sydney or he stays.

Well I would of lost closest to the pin.

Charlie wont be at Carlton next year. Don't have exact deal details.
Honestly, at this point, good

Lions just won the GF with no recognisable tall forward.
As always it's about maximising the tools you have available not forcing a certain style or archetype because that's the 'style' of the day. Another area I have minimal time for Voss on exposed form. He wants to play the Voss way. Regardless of who's fit and what his list make up is.

Both false. Was traded fresh off a year similar to Charlie. A down one. I believe he was 27/28. Not 'much younger' really either. It's arguable if Charlie's knees are good that he doesn't have the concussion issues and/or overall wear and tear of a Jeremy cameron as well.

What's the plan for the 2025 1st and 2026 1st if we receive them from Sydney?
Will they be used for Dean and Cody, or possibly something else?

It should get done today. (Not sure if it will get held over due to the tv thing tomorrow night).

I think we are going to get hosed.
If so then the aggressive and disrespectful tactics of his management stable have been 'positively reinforced'. And we'll see more of it.
