Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Getting 2 first round picks and two very good players is a deal we are very happy with. As good as we could have ever hoped. Suits us perfectly in many areas and allows us to move forward. Massive trade period for us all around

How about because it's the smart thing to do for a change? Why TF would you just take on Florent's full salary for another 4 years, seemingly at a premium, when you may be able to negotiate something better?

FMD...just because we've made dumb contract decisions in the past doesn't mean we need to continue making them into the future.

We take on his contract because he's a good player who makes us better. He'll be a mainstay in the team just like he was for Longmire season after season.

Florent is borderline steak knives. Would give up 22 if the second player was actually good (Roberts, for example).

I think Florent is a better fit for us than Roberts

Admittedly not to thrilled of the deal that has been floated for Curnow so far.

A motivated Charlie far outweighs what we can seemingly get for him. I’ve long viewed him as our best player, and has that X-Factor that can absolutely turn a game on its head, which we will, in my view be lacking now. Sadly, there’s been a total breakdown between Charles and the club now and will only be here as a last resort.

Hayward and the two first rounders are a decent start, but Florent we should give a miss, and go for a Campbell off half back with his exceptional kicking, which we’re crying out for.

Taking Florent is nothing but a salary dump, and would probably be in our bottom 6 of our 23.
